Hi I'm Wendy

I am a mother of 3, a lover of learning, and a board game enthusiast. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a stay-at-home mom of three fun, noisy kids. I enjoy kiddo-mommy time, reading books (well actually listening to them while cleaning the house after the kids go to sleep), playing the piano, making dinner, and eating it. I do not enjoy sweeping floors and scrubbing showers. I love teaching my kids and watching them grow. I like to learn new things and meet new people. I also enjoy a good competitive board game, listening to kids-songs in the car, and running.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it fills me. It fills me with purpose, it fills me with hope, it fills me with joy.

How I live my faith

One way I live my faith, is that I look for opportunities to serve. Sometimes it's playing the organ for our congregation at church, sometimes it's reading a book to my kiddos, sometimes it's planning a fun event for the community or church, and sometimes it's simply a smile or hug. I like to think that my faith is infused into everything I am and do. It informs my way of thinking. I know God loves me as he loves all his children. When I rely on him I can more readily see the good around me, or the potential for good and how I might contribute to that end.

What is the Book of Mormon?

Wendy
The Book of Mormon is a book of scripture written and compiled for us, in this day. A loving Heavenly Father gave us this book to bless our lives. It speaks of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Redeemer. It teaches of Heavenly Father and His plan for us, the plan of happiness. It speaks of love, repentance, faith, hope, and charity. The book was edited and compiled by a prophet named Mormon in the ancient Americas. It was laid up until the 19th century when it was given to Joseph Smith to translate and print. It has now been translated into many languages and is available to all the world. I am grateful for a loving Heavenly Father who saw our day, and inspired prophets of old to write their histories and testimonies for our benefit. There is power in this book. It has changed my life, and continues to change my life. When I read, my faith in God is strengthened. Show more Show less

How can faith in Jesus Christ influence us in our marriages and family relationships? in our friendships?

Wendy
I know that relationships are important. God has said that the first and great commandment is to love God with all my heart, mind, and soul. The second is like unto it - that I should love my neighbor as myself. As I strive to develop my relationship with God, I feel my other relationships are enriched as well. My faith in Jesus Christ particularly helps me when I am experiencing conflict in a relationship. First, I know that God loves me as he loves my spouse, friend, family member . . . whoever it is with which I am experiencing conflict. Knowing that, I can pray to see as He sees, or feel as He feels for that person. Also, I know that through Christ's atonement, my heart can change. Hurt and resentment can be replaced by love and forgiveness. Show more Show less
