Hi I'm Chad

Originally from Colorado - I now live in Georgia. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I graduated from college a few years ago in mechanical engineering. While in college, I married my best friend. I am an avid college football and basketball fan and fill out multiple brackets during each March Madness. I served a two year church mission in Brazil and have a great love for the people and culture there. Backpacking and camping are two of my favorite outdoor activities. I am a regular in company softball leagues and also enjoy playing pickup games of basketball when I get the chance.

Why I am a Mormon

I was baptized at the age of 11 along with my sister and mother. To be honest, I was not entirely sure what joining the church entailed, but I did know that it felt right. Growing up, I had some neighbors who are also Mormons and were loving and courageous enough to introduce my family to the Mormon church and the Gospel of Jesus Christ. For the first few years after baptism, I was not fully active in the church, but still attended through the efforts of my sister and local church members in my small town. Around the age of 14, I read a few passages in the Book of Mormon and prayed to know if those things were true. I received an overwhelming witness that the Gospel of Jesus Christ had in fact been restored to the earth and that families were an eternal unit. I know that Heavenly Father loves His children and desires them to be happy. I am a Mormon because I have felt in my heart that the Book of Mormon is true and that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is guided by a living prophet. I know that one can find the greatest happiness in this life through living the teachings of Jesus Christ and striving to be like Him.

How I live my faith

Within the church, I have a great opportunity to serve in the Elder's Quorum (the organization for men in the church). Outside of church, living my faith is comprised of many small, daily activities. Life is a journey that must be taken one day at a time. I strive to read my scriptures and communicate with my Father in Heaven through prayer every day. These activities invite the Holy Ghost into my life and bring me greater light and knowledge. I firmly believe that service is another important aspect of personal growth. I have found that I can always accomplish everything that I need to if I make room in my schedule for helping others.

What is the priesthood?

The priesthood is God's authority that has been delegated to man. The priesthood can only be exercised when it is in the service of another person. Ordinations in the Church are performed with the priesthood and holders of the priesthood must always remain worthy and strive to follow the example of Jesus Christ. Show more Show less
