Hi I'm Mitch

I am a brother, a friend and a lifetime student. I love to enjoy the outdoors and I love to learn. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am working my first job post-graduation and living in the Seattle, Washington area for the first time ever. I graduated with a degree in Landscape Management and Business Management and Latin American Studies minors. I love the outdoors!! I love to hike and to play sports. Most of all I love being around other people. Soccer and Ultimate Frisbee are my two favorite sports by far, though I love participating in just about anything athletic. Inside I love to dance either ballroom or more casual socail dancing because I love to listen to music! When I turned 19, I served a mission in Brazil where I learned to speak Portuguese fluently. I love the Brazilian and Latin American cultures!!

Why I am a Mormon

Well, I was born to parents who have been devoted members of the LDS Church since they were young, and they taught me to live according to those principles from the time I was born. However, there came a point in my life as a teenager that I really needed to choose beause I felt a lot of pressure to live a different lifestyle or do things contrary to my parents' beliefs. I decided to study and pray to Heavently Father trusting that He would tell me what to do. I studied and I looked at my options, and one night as I was praying, I felt so peaceful and happy and I knew that if I continued to live the principles my parents had taught me, that the Lord would be pleased with me and that He would bless me for it. I began to devote myself more toward serving the Lord and trying to be a truly dedicated member of the LDS Church--a good Mormon--and my testimony grew rapidly. Now I know that Jesus Christ is the leader of His church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and I know that He organized this church so that all of God's children might have access to everything they need to know and all the necessary ordinances of the gospel for them to live happily hear on the earth and enjoy the blessings of even greater joy as they rise to live again after this life.

How I live my faith

On a personal level, I live my faith by making an effort every day to become more like Christ and truly build a relationship with my Heavenly Father through daily prayer and scripture study. I know that Heavenly Father wants me to reach out to His children around me, to encourage them, support them and help them to feel His love through me. I'm not perfect so I don't always do a great job, but I try every day to be better and to be a better member of my family, a more devoted and true friend, and a better member of the community.
