Hi I'm Misty

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a WIFE. Nearly ten years ago I met and married my best friend. He is my companion, my strength, and my love. I am a MOTHER. I love my children. I have 3. They are my joy. Each day I look forward to the sweet surprises they will fill my day with. I am blessed to get to stay home and care for them each day. I am a DAUGHTER. I was raised in a small town in the Rocky Mountains by parents who taught me to love my Heavenly Father. They taught me about faith, happiness and the joy that comes from following the example of Jesus Christ. I am INDIVIDUAL. I believe that life long learning is essential to every individual. Even though I am a stay at home mom I have a bachelors degree in Special Education and my husband has a PhD in Instructional Design. I can frequently be found curled up on the couch with a classic novel or experimenting on a new recipe in the kitchen with my children. I love to be outdoors and a perfect evening for me would involve hiking, camping, and roasting marshmallows around the fire with my family.

Why I am a Mormon

My family has been members of the Mormon church for many generations. The experiences and stories of my ancestors have inspired me and strengthened my faith. But it is not these experiences that make me a Mormon. I am a Mormon because I believe with all my heart that this is God's church. I remember kneeling by the side of my bed as a child and praying to my Father in Heaven. I wanted to know for myself if this was the true church. A feeling of love and peace filled my heart and I knew it was true. I knew that my Heavenly Father loved me. As I have grown older this feeling of peace has stayed with me. I know it is the true church of Jesus Christ! I know that our Heavenly Father is a loving and kind father and I am grateful that I can live each day in peace knowing that my father hears my prayers.

How I live my faith

Each Sunday I have the opportunity to teach the children in our church. It has been a wonderful experience to feel the love that a child can have for Jesus Christ. Their testimony and desire to learn more from the scriptures constantly inspires me.
