Hi I'm Drew

I love my gorgeous wife and our extremely cute daughters. When I'm not doing homework I play sports or build stuff. I'm Mormon.

About Me

I'm learning to be a loving family man as I juggle many responsibilities at home, work, school, and church. Spending time with my wife and children is very rewarding. This summer we hope to spend lots of time together as well as with other families from our neighborhood at local lakes biking, boating, and swimming. I work full time designing power lines for a utility company while working towards a degree in my spare time. I also love serving people in my church and really love the friendships I have with them.

Why I am a Mormon

I was blessed to be born into a family that lived and taught Christ's teachings. As I grew up I began to pray and read the Book of Mormon with my family and on my own. I learned to really love certain prophets in the scriptures for their courage and testimonies and developed a strong sense of right and wrong. I also began to firmly know that the Book of Mormon is the Word of God. This sense of right and wrong lead me to an experience in my youth when I very intimately felt the power of Christ's atonement (his suffering in the garden and death on the cross for each of our sins). I wanted to be truly happy, and needed to change some things. As I forsook my sins and asked for the Lord's forgiveness, I felt the power of the atonement cleanse my heart and soul. The burdens of sin that I had been carrying were swept away. I felt so good! I knew Christ's atonement was real. Later, as I served as a missionary of the church, my love and understanding of Christ's gospel grew. I could see how much the gospel had blessed my life and was blessing the people my companions and I got to teach and baptize. In words spoken in a recent general conference, "my mission was the best two years for my life." This experience in my youth and my mission really helped me see that, if I did my best to live the things that Christ's church teaches, I would find lasting happiness. God would help me through my trials and help me accomplish my goals. This is why I'm a Mormon.

How I live my faith

One of the most important ways I live my faith is by taking time each day to study the Book of Mormon and to pray. This gives me strength each day to do what is right and I often receive impressions from the Holy Ghost about how to handle life's challenges. I love serving others and do my best to make a difference in whatever I am called to do. This could mean serving my family members, people at church, co-workers, or neighbours. I try to remember that God loves me just as much as anyone and I want to share the blessings I receive from living the gospel of Jesus Christ with others. Finally, I try to share things that make me happy with those around me. I like to talk about my family, my church, and the influence Christ is in my life because all these things are a source of great joy, peace, and direction in my life. I find that as I keep my standards and continue to be friendly towards co-workers, classmates, and others, I gain their respect and they accept who I am. This is meaningful to me because being a Mormon and living as a Mormon should can mean standing out or being different. I hope others see how my faith blesses my life and seek to find faith in God themselves.
