Hi I'm Adam

I'm a martial artist, an intellectual, and a dreamer. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm the sort of guy who loves just about everything. Ballroom dancing and books. Martial arts and long conversations. But what I really love is coming close to God, and helping others do the same.

Why I am a Mormon

Because I prayed and asked God if it is true. I have received a witness from the Holy Spirit that it is true. As I've held true to that conviction, God has strengthened my faith and given me proofs of it's truth outside of the answer from the Holy Spirit. Everything I've learned since then has confirmed it. I've been strengthened in ways I know I wouldn't have been if this was not true. I love what God has created me into.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by acting on what I believe, and as I act on what I believe to be true, I learn that it is true. I strive to draw myself and all those around me closer to God. I have received incredible happiness because of my faith, and I want everyone to enjoy those same blessings. I share my beliefs with others while I am a missionary in Georgia, strengthening their faith and helping them understand God's plan. I continue to develop myself, trying to become what I know God wants me to be. I make mistakes, and I learn from them. I move on, trusting that God has things under control.

Can a husband and wife be together forever? Do Mormons believe that families will live together in heaven?

Absolutely they can. That has been promised by Jesus Christ. It makes no sense for God to create and bless the family, with the most beautiful and loving relationships in the world, only to say that all that love you had for your spouse and your kids doesn't matter after this life. God wants us to be perfectly happy, and we could not be perfectly happy without our wives and husbands and children beside us in heaven. So, yes. Husband and wife and children, when sealed in the temples of God, can truly live together forever, in perfect happiness. Show more Show less

What is a “testimony” that Mormons speak of?

A testimony is simply a statement of what someone knows to be true. Not what he believes, not what he thinks, what he knows to be true. The knowledge that Mormons have was given to them by God, through the power of the Holy Ghost. The Holy Ghost is a spirit whose job is to tell us what is Truth to God. When any person has a question, and prays to God asking about that question, really wanting to know, the Holy Ghost will tell that person what is true to God, and what is not. Anything that the Holy Ghost tells you is what God Himself would tell you, because they work in perfect unity. So a Testimony is the knowledge that a member of our church has received through the power of the Holy Ghost. Show more Show less

Why was a Restoration of the Gospel needed? Haven’t we always had the Bible?

After Jesus' Apostles spread the gospel to all the world, falsehood and false prophets distorted the truths of the gospel. These distortions became widespread, and the original truths of the gospel of Jesus Churst were lost. Over time, good people saw that Christianity had departed from the teachings of Jesus Christ, and strove to reform what was there. They were able to bring many things back, but becasue they were not called as the prophets of old had been (Hebrews 5:4) they could not bring back the original truths. The reformers had much truth, as do all churches, but none had all the original truths, in their pure form. That is why God called Prophets again, and why Christ restored those original truths through a modern prophet. Show more Show less
