Hi I'm Sandy

I'm a wife and mother. I love music and gardening and I'm a mormon.

About Me

My name is Sandy. I am 48 years old. I have been married to my wonderful husband, since 1984. We have four great children. I grew up as a member of the Catholic church. My husband and I met in college. He told me a lot about the church. He was 8 years old when his mother, brother and two sisters joined the church. After I graduated from college, David and I got married. He was working in TV news and I was teaching elementary school. We moved around when we were young as David moved up in the TV markets. He eventually got out of TV news and into marketing and now is running a non profit association. I taught school for several years and then after we had our second child, we decided that we really wanted one parent to stay home with our children. I was so glad for that opportunity. I started investigating the church after we got married. We lived in a little town and the church was a small branch. Four months after we got married, I was baptized and then a year later we were sealed in the Atlanta, Georgia temple. Our oldest son was already born, so he was sealed to us at that time. I love cooking and finding new recipes that are healthy. My husband and I do lots of gardening and landscaping around our home. I love when I can pick and eat fruits and vegetables that we have grown. I taught elementary school, but after our second child was born, we decided we wanted a stay at home parent for our children, and I have loved it! I love the beach and try to go as often as we can.  I think that one of the most important things we can do in our life is to serve others. I know that the more I can help others, the more I will be blessed and that my life will be enriched. To love others as Jesus Christ did is something we should strive to always do.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a mormon because I have prayed and know the teachings of the church are true and real. I know that Jesus Christ is my Savior and that he died for all man that we can live with him for eternity. I know that God loves us all and that if we do all that he asks, our lives will be blessed. I know that by living the gospel our lives can be filled with peace and happiness. I also know that as we make mistakes, we can repent and be forgiven and that God will remember those sins no more. Being a Mormon means family is most important. I want to be able to live with my family for eternity and I know that we can have that if we are faithful to the teachings of the church as we live this life on earth. Heavenly Father has given us a prophet so that we can receive revelation for our time. Heavenly Father loves us and would not leave us without a way to know what he wants for us. That is why we have a modern day prophet.

How I live my faith

Living my faith is a most important part of my life. It is my life. I am the same person on Sunday that I am all week. I keep the covenants and commandments that I've been given as best as I can. I know how important it is to serve and help others as we live our lives. I have had the opportunity to serve in many ways in the church. Working with the children, youth and women of the church has all helped me to grow and become a stronger and better person. I try to have compassion and love for all people as Jesus Christ did.
