Hi I'm Jon

I raised my family in Virginia and now live in Utah

About Me

I'm married, have a lovely wife and five children, and have pursued a career in housing finance. I enjoy recreational running, sports, reading, and following world news. Our children are older and have been married or are at school.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the Mormon Church, and I believe in the teachings of the Church for three reasons: (1) I was taught to believe in my childhood, (2) I have found that when I apply the principles and teachings I am happy, and (3) I have felt a strong personal assurance (i.e. an answer to prayer) that the teachings of this religion are true and come from God.

How I live my faith

For years I went to Church with the expectation of taking something with me (e.g. a thought, a goal, an idea, or even inspiration or motivation). If I didn't get something from the services, I was disappointed. Now that I am older, I attend Church with the goal of giving something to someone else. I try to encourage others and contribute to the discussion and feeling that prevail among us as a congregation. I currently work with teenagers in activities and inspirational meetings. I love the feeling I have when I participate in helping the youth gain guidance and direction for their lives.
