Hi I'm Laurie

I'm studying Mechanical Engineering, I love to juggle, I've endured Cancer, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to ride roller coasters and I love everything Disney. I learned how to juggle when I was twelve because I wanted to be like my dad. I can crochet but not knit and I love to go camping whenever I can. In 2011 I was diagnosed with Cancer. It was terrifying, but through it I could see my Heavenly Father's hand guiding me every day.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because no other religion or church shares my beliefs. God is the same yesterday, today, and forever, He had prophets in the time of the bible and He has prophets now on this earth who guide us. The Holy Ghost can be with us and guide us wherever we go and helps give us personal revelation in times of need. I know that my Heavenly Father lives and loves me and I know that He has a plan for me and every one of His children.

How I live my faith

I live my faith every day by the way I act. I volunteer at the local High School helping students become better. I attend church weekly and do my best to participate in all lessons and discussions that arise. I remind myself that even though I don't always know when I've influenced someone for good, it still happened, and has probably happened more than I know. I know that my experiences are meant to be shared, even in small ways, they can help others grow closer to our Father in Heaven.

Why don’t women hold the priesthood in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints? How do Mormon women lead in the Church?

Women have a gift and men have a gift. Women provide and care for the physical body and men provide and care for the spiritual body. Even though women don't hold the priesthood, they can participate in the priesthood. Show more Show less
