Hi I'm Casey

Yes, I am a Mormon.

About Me

I would like to think I have a pretty well-rounded life. My interests vary from time to time, but a few constants include video games, longboarding down asphalt hills - not waves, music, and learning in general. My parents raised me to love reading and learning. Though I don't boast a particularly deep knowledge in any one field, I am always excited to learn about whatever I can. I have played saxophone for a few years, and am pursuing jazz saxophone performance as a college major. However, most of my musical experience has been rather unorthodox, and includes garage-band-esque forays into the realms of hip-hop, techno, classical, and some things unclassifiable.

Why I am a Mormon

To state it as simply as I can, I am a Mormon because it's where I feel the truth is. Heavenly Father is the ultimate source of all truth, and invites all of us to ask, seek, and knock. I have done that the best that I can, and all the answers I have received have pointed me in this direction. Being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints has given me a more complete picture of my existence, and for that I'm thankful.

How I live my faith

Recently I have been learning more and more that information itself is useless if it isn't applied. I try my best to live my faith by acting on every new thing I learn. Most often this means stepping outside my comfort zone to serve and help others. The Church gives me opportunities to do this through volunteer service. This could mean speaking in a church meeting, visiting families and trying to help with their needs, or a number of other things.

Why is family so important to Mormons?

Casey
Family holds such high priority with us because it is the only social unit that continues in eternity. When families are sealed together by the proper means, that union is binding both on earth and in heaven. Knowing that I will be with my family forever has greatly increased my love for and desire to maintain a close relationship with them. Show more Show less
