Hi I'm Michael

My three passions are BYU football, BYU basketball, and vanilla milkshakes, and I am indeed a Mormon

About Me

I'm 26, studying biology and pre-veterinarian courses. I enjoy playing sports and feel like I have participated in them all at one point in my life. When I was younger I ran long distance, the mile and two mile. I also played soccer. In High School I switched and started playing water polo and was on the swim team. I also played tennis for a year before going back to swimming. I love to snowboard and have done it since High School. Throughout my life I have experienced many trials. Many times I have felt that no one understands what i'm going through and that no one can relate. But in reality there is always one person who knows how I, and anyone else feels, and that is the Lord Jesus Christ. He knows my pains, and He knows your pains, because He suffered them for you and for me. Some people don't realize that Christ not only suffered for our sins, but He also suffered for every sadness, lonely, painful, hurtful, bad thing we EVER have or will experience in our lives. He literally felt everything that we have felt and experienced. He did that so He could know how to comfort us as we go through life. I am grateful for my Savior and know that He lives!

Why I am a Mormon

I am Mormon because I prayed and asked God to know if The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is Christ's true Church and I FELT the Holy Spirit confirm to me that it is. And since that time I have had many other confirmations from the Holy Spirit confirming to me that this is Christ's church, that it has been brought back on the earth after being lost. I know it with all my heart. God hears and answers our prayers; I know this because He has answered mine.

How I live my faith

I just try to be the best person I can be. I make lots of mistakes and when I do I repent through Christ, am forgiven, and strive to be a better person. Right now I'm working on how to be more patient, more patient with myself and all of my flaws. As I study the scriptures each day, I pray for help to become more patient. God answers prayers! He has helped me to become more patient, I have seen it. I live my faith by trying to keep the covenants(promises) I made to Christ when I was baptized. I renew those covenants each week when I attend Church and partake of the Sacrament(the bread and water which represent Christ's body and blood which He sacrificed for all of us). As I partake of the Sacrament each week I rededicate myself to Him and strive to be better.

Do Mormons regard the Bible as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

Michael
Yes we do. In fact one of my favorite scriptures comes from the Bible. It is found in the Old Testament in Proverbs chapter 3, verse 5. I am currently studying the New Testament in fact. I am studying the Epistles of Paul and have learned a lot! Show more Show less
