Hi I'm Ben

I'm a friend and an optimist. I enjoy learning, playing sports, and traveling. I love my wife and our little girl. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I recently graduated from college and my wife and I are beginning our "real" life together. We met at Cambridge University and love learning together, finding new knowledge, and gaining a better understanding of the world around us. We also love to travel and have each been to at least three continents. Personally, I am a die-hard baseball fan, a huge reader, and love music in all its many forms, although I do have my biases. My favorite way to spend my time is with my wife, regardless of what we're doing. Most importantly, we are expecting our first child and, while intimidated by the idea, I cannot wait to be a father.

Why I am a Mormon

Put simply, I am a Mormon because I choose to be. I believe that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the true, restored church of God on earth today. I was raised a Mormon by two loving parents who taught me about Jesus Christ and His restored gospel. At the same time, they also emphasized learning and making my own informed decisions, providing me with a great deal of leeway to decide for myself what direction my faith, and life, would take. But, through countless small, seemingly insignificant experiences, I have had the truth of the gospel of Jesus Christ and the Restoration confirmed to me again and again. It has taken concentrated effort, a desire to know what is really true, and patient application of the teachings of Christ to come to where I am today. And I expect this journey to continue the rest of my life as I constantly learn and seek to understand more about how I can better serve my fellow man and prepare to return to live with my family, forever.

How I live my faith

My faith is an active and integral part of my life. Everything I do and every decision I make is done in the context of my belief and faith in Jesus Christ and in His gospel. My most important role is to be a husband and support to my wife as both of us work together to live His teachings better and come closer to Him. I am also active in the youth program at church, helping with not only Boy Scouts, but also dances and high adventure activities.
