Hi I'm Star

I'm majoring in English Education. I work at Jamba Juice. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I just finished my Associates Degree in Liberal Arts, and I'm working on my Bachelors in English Education with a minor in History Education. I'm paying my way through school by working at Jamba Juice as a professional smoothie maker. In my spare time, I love going running.

Why I am a Mormon

I knew this was the true church even when I was a little kid. In our religion, we have prophets who lead us just like in Biblical times. The first prophet in our day was Joseph Smith. He saw God and Jesus Christ. He wrote "The Articles of Faith" which outline what we believe. Many times kids will memorize these. I was about nine years old when my mom was helping me to memorize them. The first one says, "We believe in God, the Eternal Father, and in His Son, Jesus Christ, and in the Holy Ghost." Then, my mom asked me to explain what we learn from this. I said we learn that God, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost are three separate individuals. Then, my mom asked me how Joseph Smith knew this, since he is the one that wrote it. I sat and thought for a while. Then, I finally declared, "He saw them!" It was such an epiphany that we both started to cry. I have known since then that Joseph Smith really did see God and Jesus Christ. Because of this, I know this is God's church.

How I live my faith

I have had different volunteer opportunities in my church. For over a year, I taught a Sunday School class with eight five-year-olds. It was so much fun! We played games and learned about making good choices by following Jesus Christ. I have such a love for them!

What do Mormons believe happens to us after we die? What do Mormons believe about life after death?

I always appreciated that we will see our family members again after this life, but it became even more important to me when my brother passed away. i took comfort knowing that I would be reunited with him again. It hurts not having him, and I can't wait to see him again some day. Show more Show less
