Hi I'm Brandy

I am blessed, truly blessed

About Me

I grew up in a small town among down home people. I love getting to know people and love them. I am currently working with youth ages 12-18 and rearing a family ranging from 8 to almost 2, we are expecting our sixth in April...yeah Spring! My kids and I love hiking and being outside. We like to ride bikes...I have mostly sons so we do that a lot to run off extra energy. No wonder men make such a good dads, they have so much energy they can just keep going :) "How many children do we have?" We have six. Our little boy Owen was born in the winter instead of in the spring. Owen Tyndale Whitmer died February 1st 2011. His initials stand for On The Way and he truly is, and he is helping to encourage the rest of his family on our way. So grateful for the goodness of our loving Father in Heaven. Death is not the end, it's just an extension of life and relationships started here.

Why I am a Mormon

Life presents hard questions. Sometimes those questions feel unanswerable. I have looked and looked. I have met so many people of so many different faiths. They all have that light and that desire to follow the Savior and it is evident that He is guiding them. I have spent my life in search of that way, the way that Christ described himself as, "I am the way the truth and the life." I desire to be on that way. I want to obtain truth from its true source. As I have searched and prayed my mind and heart finally became settled that God's true church and path would have His pattern as contained in the bible...prophets, apostles, etc... I wanted the ordinances as preformed when Christ was upon the earth. When I read the Book of Mormon and listened to the whisperings in my heart I knew it was true because it felt familiar. When one strives to walk with God in their daily lives they recognize His footprints and I recognized His footprints in the clear doctrines and principles espoused by this church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I am grateful to be called a Mormon because it was through the fruit of the Book of Mormon that I was able to see His footprints and continue in my desire to follow Him. Those questions make walking in footprints unsatisfactory, I need to hold His hand. I need the touch of the master's hand and His embrace. I have found that here.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by loving my family, by striving to be of service to my fellowmen. I strive to follow the example of the Savior and reach out in love and concern to all. I teach my children to love each other by serving one another and to look carefully for ways to help others. We read and pray together and we play and learn together. We strive to grow in favor with God and man and we turn to the Lord always, when things are managable and when it is hard to breathe. We know that together and with the help of the Lord we can move forward and make a difference on our way. I live my life every moment of every day striving to be a less unprofitable servant.
