Hi I'm Randy

I'm a Mormon. I was both born and raised in Nebraska. I am a general contractor. I have been blessed with a wonderful family.

About Me

My name is Randy. I am a contractor by trade and greatly enjoy the challenges associated with my vocation. Hobbies include a variety of outdoor sports, my favorite is fishing. My parents raised me in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. My mother joined the church shortly before my birth. I have been blessed with a wonderful family, my greatest asset. The greatest satisfaction in my life comes as a result of being a member of my family and the Lord’s church. I take credit for the fact that my children have learned to be patient, of course they had little choice considering my trial and error style of parenting. Their mother has managed to smooth over the rough spots I have created. I enjoy opportunities to be of service in the community and in the church. These opportunities provide a tremendous sense of fulfillment, feelings of peace, and joy.

Why I am a Mormon

We all make mistakes (I have accumulated my share). If properly addressed, mistakes can contribute to our growth and development. Mistakes can be painful and more serious mistakes can cause injury and even death (these can be both physical and spiritual in nature). Why I am member of the church, in large measure is because of the safety and security it brings? The gospel of Jesus Christ is the glue of my life, the adhesive that keeps all of the various pieces together and intact. To have a sure guide to live by helps me to avoid miss steps that will ultimately (if left uncorrected) lead to those afore mentioned painful outcomes. As the prophets of old were directed by God to lead His people, I believe today prophets again (as in times past) speak at God's behest. As Noah warned, Moses lead, Isaiah foretold the Saviors birth, Peter and Paul directed and corrected the church, a prophet today speaks in behalf of a loving Father in Heaven. As in the days of Sodom and Gomorrah evils surround us, but a prophet can and will assist us in fleeing from the bad, leading us towards the good. I love my family dearly, I want the very best for them. I believe the greater access I have to the words of God, including and especially though a prophet, the better chance we have for happiness in this life and hope for the same in the world to come.

How I live my faith

How I live my faith, there are those days when most of us can identify closely with our friend Job. I oft struggle to have my actions be consistent with my professed beliefs. None the less I have hope. Hope that tomorrow I will be a better husband, father, brother, friend, and child of God than I am today. I know the Lord Jesus Christ and His gospel are my hope, my great and only hope. I attempt each day to live my life as though it is my last on earth (one day, sooner or later I will be right). Each day I try to do something good (as was said of the Savior). I read from the Holy Scriptures every day searching for additional guidance from the Lord and kneel in prayer to plead for His assistance. At the end of the day (often lengthy) I ask for forgiveness and for tomorrow to come that I might try again....
