Hi I'm Dale

I am a Cadd operator in an engineering firm. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in rural Saskatchewan. I joined the church when I was 20. I served a full time mission to the Canada Calgary Mission. I have been married for 25 years. I have 5 children, (two of them are with special needs). My hobbies or interests include Hiking, Camping, Family History. I currently work as a Cadd operator for an engineering firm.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a convert to the church. I grew up in a rural community in Western Canada. At an early age in my youth, I have had spiritual questions which I did not have an answer for. At my grandfathers funeral, I felt an impression that there was some work in which I had to do for my grandfather. At that time, I did not know what that work was. I knew nothing about Family History, or knew what the purpose of a temple was for. I started to have many spiritual questions that I did not have answers for, however I beleived the answer was out there. As I pondered over these questions, a prompting had come to me, telling me that I would receive my answer in Saskatoon. I would have to wait 5 years for my answer, as I would need to complete High school, and Technical school. Those 5 years did come and go. These yearnings to know about the truth also became strong. At about the time I was searching for truth, the truth found me, in the form of two Mormon missionaries who knocked on my door. They taught me the discussions. I was taught to feel the spirit through prayer. They challenged me to be baptised. They even challenged me to do as Joseph Smith did. Go into a grove of trees and pray to know if this was the true church. I did. I was baptised shortly after that.

How I live my faith

I try to my best abilities to live the teachings of Jesus Christ. I teach these values to the rest of my family. I am a Home teacher as well as a ward clerk. These callings give me the oppurtunitiy to use my talents and resources to help other people.

Why do Mormons perform baptisms for the dead?

Dale
We believe that the gospel is for all people who have lived on the earth, including those who have never had the oppurtunity to hear the gospel in their mortal life. Baptisms for the Dead give those people the oppurtunity to accept the gospel. Show more Show less

How can I know Mormonism is true?

Dale
The best way I know of to find out if Mormonism is true Is to read the Book of Mormon, and pray to know if this book is true. Show more Show less
