Hi I'm Gloria

I'm a nurse, mom, wife and Grandma. And yes, I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I'm in the empty nester phase of life, but I don't feel empty. I have a married daughter and son and am grandmother to a lovely boy and girl. Though they don't live close, we keep in touch via the Internet and phone. I love working with young people and have spent several years as a mentor to young women. As a registered nurse I have worked in healthcare jobs for thirty-five years, and still find that serving others is very satisfying and brings me joy. I love to read, sing and listen to good music.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and grew up in the LDS church and appreciate the sacrifices of my Mormon ancestors. After getting married and leaving my childhood home, I realized that I had the choice to continue to follow the Savior or not. I discovered through many prayers during challenging times that Heavenly Father did indeed answer my prayers and send help when I needed it. This has greatly strengthened my faith, because I learned that God knows and loves all His children. I know that the atonement of Christ is real, that He lives, and that through Him all things can be made right. I love the words of the prophets in the Bible and Book of Mormon. They give me strength and hope in my daily life. I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints has helped me to come closer to the Savior through the teachings I heave received. I testify of this in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

How I live my faith

I work with the young women of our church, helping thm to make and achieve spiritual goals. I help the girls organize programs to celebrate their successes. I visit several women every month; I usually share a gospel message and take a small gift like banana bread or cookies. I am a volunteer babysitter for mothers with very small children, it makes me happy that they can go on a date with their husbands and not worry about their babies. Living my faith means sharing my time and talents to serve and help others.
