Hi I'm Sierra

I grew up in Arizona. I'm a college student. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am 20 years old and currently attending college right now. My major is exercise science and I plan on going to grad school to become a physician"s assistant. I have been working for the past year as a CNA taking care of children and the elderly. When I'm not in school or working I love playing sports and hanging out with my friends. Volleyball is my absolute favorite sport and I play as often as I can. I also love to play the violin and occasionally the piano. I have an awesome family and great friends!

Why I am a Mormon

One of the main focuses of the church is family. Family is one of the most important things in my life. I can't imagine my life without them. In the church we are taught that through the plan of salvation, we can be sealed to our families forever. This is one of the greatest blessings in my life to know that I can always be with my family. It's also important to me to know that God loves us and he has sent prophets to guide and direct us. Prophets receive revelation directly from God to guide His people. I know that not only do the prophets receive revelation for the church as a whole, but I can also communicate with our Heavenly Father through prayer and receive answers through the Holy Spirit. The church has blessed my life in so many ways and is a constant comfort to me in times of difficulty. I know that the church is true.

How I live my faith

I attend church every Sunday and there are sometimes activities during the week that I attend as well. I currently serve in the church as a ward missionary. This is not a full time mission calling, but I do help the missionaries with new members. I teach new members the basic doctrine of the church so they can become familiar with it. I also help serve in the community: helping at the soup kitchen, painting a house, comforting the sick, and many other opportunities that are available.

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

Sierra
No, not all Mormons are required to serve a mission. Boys are encouraged to go at the age of 19 and girls have the option of going when they turn 21. It is a very personal decision to go on a mission and especially girls are asked to feel confident in their decision. Missions are a wonderful way to teach others about the church and to serve those in need. Show more Show less
