Hi I'm Marc

I am a convert to the church. I am a husband, a father of 5, a school principal. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a convert to the church. I became a member when I was 16. At that time, I was the quarterback of my high school football team and I was not a religious person at all. The only time my family and I were really ever in a church was for funerals or weddings. Then, a very close friend (ok, she was my girlfriend at the time) shared her beliefs with me. I began to meet with the missionaries and as they taught me, I gained a clearer understanding of why we are here and of what is important in life. I prayed about what they taught me and came to know for myself that it was true. Three years later, I was able to serve my own mission in Pennsylvania. Serving a mission was one of the best decisions I've ever made. My wife and I have been married for almost 23 years. We have 5 children; 2 in college, 2 in high school, and 1 in elementary school. I am a principal of a K-8 school and I love my job. All of our daughters run track and cross country, so many of our Saturdays are spent at those races.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints because, when I was 16, a great friend shared her beliefs with me. I then decided to meet with the missionaries and to listen to their message. They taught me about our Savior, Jesus Christ. They taught me that God is the same today as he was in ancient times and that he has called prophets in our day, just like in times of old. I studied and prayed about what the missionaries taught me, and came to know for myself that what they shared was true. Three years after I was baptized, I had the opportunity to serve a 2-year mission myself. During that time I saw how membership in the Church changed and blessed people's lives. My son also recently returned from his mission in Italy, where he also witnessed the great blessings the Gospel brings into people's lives.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to do what I can to serve others and serve Christ. I believe it starts by living the Gospel at home and being an example to my family and others. About a year and a half ago, I was called as the Bishop of our local congregation. This is similar to a Pastor or Priest in other churches. The opportunity to serve in this in this way is truly a blessing.
