Hi I'm Ashley

I'm a Mormon who's in love with the Lord, my children & music.

About Me

Well, I'm a single mother of 3 beautiful children. I love the outdoors, laughing & music. I spent 6 years in the Navy but I now work full time as an oilfield operator (a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do, lol). I was actually very blessed to get such a great job, I love it & work hard to support my kiddos. What I really want to do......well I'm an aspiring singer song writer. I've been singing since I was little, started writing a few years back & am now learning guitar. Music has always been a big part of my life. It's always been hard for me to express myself unless it's through music or poetry. I have also found it a great way to share my testimony & spread the word of God.

Why I am a Mormon

Why I am a Mormon?!?!? Because the missionaries came bangin on my door, that's why!! Lol ;) Actually it's because of the Lord. When we say everything happens for a reason, lol, YOU BETTER BELIEVE IT!! You see, what happened was....lol. So there I was, donating at Goodwill. I was using my dad's truck cause my car was in the shop. When I was unloading a bicycle out of the bed, I stepped off the tailgate & my ankle rolled when I landed. Yup, OUCH!! Well after about 3 weeks of working in the field with, what the ER doctor said was a "sprained ankle" I ended up getting an MRI that showed I had 2 torn ligaments & a fracture. So I was gonna be out of work for a while. Low and behold the day I was sent home the missionaries showed up. I told em come back tomorrow (cause I don't ever talk to those guys), & I had planned on being gone. For some strange reason....I didn't leave that day. I let them come in, I talked to them & the rest is history. See I look at it as my fractured ankle, was the Lord telling me that my life was broken, so here, take some time to yourself & figure it out. Not only did he give me the time off work to think about my broken life, but he gave me the help I needed by sending me the most amazing missionaries. I was injured in March 2010, heard the knock in April & was baptized with my daughter in May. The Lord was slowly peparing me for that day....I used to be an alcoholic, I decided to quit drinking and smoking in September 2007, which changed my life drastically. I did several little things to help my children & I be a closer family & actually have a decent life. The final change I needed to make, was to follow the Lord & to teach my children of His glory. The Sunday after the Elders came to my door was the very first Sunday that my children had ever gone to church...ever. The Lord works in mysterious ways & the lives of this little family has been blessed and is forever changed.

How I live my faith

I haven't been in the ward for very long yet, not even a year, but my callin came rather quickly. I was called to be the Secretary of the Primary, I actually like it. I take roll on Sunday makin sure all of our little kiddos get to their classes. I also schedule the opening & closing exercises for the children & set up which child will be giving the talk, reading the scripture & saying the closing prayer each Sunday. I've been having a lot of fun with it.
