Hi I'm Kaylena

I'm a student, a sister, an aunt, and somebody's best friend. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm 18, attending college, and have a bunch of hobbies, including writing, drawing, and crochet/knitting.

Why I am a Mormon

My cousin asked me to meet with missionaries in August 2009. Knowing my mom wouldn't approve, I told her that I was going to be helping my cousin with wedding decorations (which wasn't a lie, I just left out the part about the missionaries coming). After the lesson, they asked if I wanted a Book of Mormon. I was surprised to find that I DID want one! I came home, and my mother noticed I was carrying a book...the Book of Mormon, in fact. She threw a fit, but let me keep it. That night, I read the Book of Mormon and prayed, just as the missionaries said I should. I wasn't expecting any grand ta-da!, but as I began to pray, I started crying. The few tears quickly turned to uncontrollable sobbing. I couldn't get my thougts straight, and was about to give up on praying when I suddenly felt this incredible blanket of peace fall over me, and I instantly stopped crying. NEVER in my life had I exprienced something like that, and I knew, right then, that I had my answer. Getting baptised was never a question after that. The question was when. My mom, after I continued to meet with missionaries, told me that I was NOT going to be baptised...as long as I was a minor. My birthday was five months away, and I waited impatiently for it to come! Around my birthday, the missionaries told me that my SISTER was investigating the Church! After talking to my sister, we decided to be baptized on the same day: February 14th. Valentine's Day...and my cousin's birthday (the one who introduced me to the Church).

How I live my faith

I regularly attend church. I also go to Young Single Adults and Institute (Bible study) every week. I don't have any callings...so far.
