Hi I'm Tom

I'm a medical technologist, a drummer, a Boy Scouter, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am happily married to my best friend, and am the father of a delightful daughter. I am the director of a small hospital laboratory. I believe in conservative Christian family values. I'm a Boy Scout Wood Badger, follow college football, play the drums in a community band, and enjoy reading, travel, and spending time with family and friends.

Why I am a Mormon

I know for myself that the principles of faith and the gospel of Jesus Christ, as contained in the teachings of the Mormon church, are true. The first of my ancestors to join the Mormon church did so in the mid-1800s in their native lands of Denmark and England. They emigrated to America to live their faith and helped to colonize the great American West. My parents church activity, especially in my formative years, had a profound influence on my attitude toward my own beliefs and church involvement. Yet, as an adult I had to know and decide for myself what my beliefs were and if I would live by my faith. Through study of the scriptures, the application of their teachings over time, and with much sincere prayer to God, by His grace, I have developed my own testimony concerning faith in Jesus Christ and of His love for me. The gospel of Christ, as taught in the Mormon church, is absolutely true. It provides direction for me in a turbulent, sometimes conflicted world and brings me comfort, security, and trust in the Lord Jesus Christ. His church is led today by Prophets and Apostles, as in days of old. The Book of Mormon is the word of God. You can know for yourself that these things are true. Pray to God and ask. Search and investigate with an open, prayerful heart. Have courage to accept the truths that God will reveal to your heart.

How I live my faith

I feel a closeness to my Heavenly Father and have a strong desire to please Him. I strive to always remember that all I have or ever hope to be are gifts from Him, through His only begotten son, the Lord Jesus Christ. I currently serve the people of my church working with missionaries. Also, I work to support the adult leaders in the Boy Scout program. Past assignments have included working with youth activity programs, and in clerical and ministerial positions. My most important roles are that of husband, father, son, brother, and friend.
