Hi I'm Tabitha

I'm a mom, an avid reader, an amateur chef and I love science. And, I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have one daughter whom we welcomed into our family last year! Being a mom is the hardest and most wonderful thing I've ever done. I love to cook, and I enjoy trying new recipes and browsing through my huge collection of cookbooks. I've been involved with music since childhood, acting in community musicals, singing in chorus and playing in band. I've played all of the following instruments with varying degrees of proficiency: flute, tenor saxophone, piano, guitar and harmonica. In my dwindling free time, you can usually find me blogging for my family, baking something delicious, playing games, or reading a book. I'm a huge fan of fantasy and science fiction!

Why I am a Mormon

I love that my faith encourages me to study and find things out for myself. By studying and by doing, I have gained a testimony of my Heavenly Father and his son Jesus Christ. I know that they live, and that they care about us and every aspect of our lives. I know we can pray to them and received answers--I have done this many times when I have felt discouraged or lost. My Mormon faith gives me a knowledge and a perspective I haven't seen anywhere else. My family is better and I am a better person because of that perspective.

How I live my faith

My church gives me wonderful and varied opportunities to participate and help others. Until recently, I was the choir director at my church. I loved every aspect of this responsibility! We had a great volunteer choir who performed once a month during meetings. Now I serve in the children's organization, and I have the chance to teach and influence these beautiful children who are so close to our Savior. I may not have personally chosen that call to serve, but I believe that God assigned me and I am enjoying every minute!
