Hi I'm Diana

I'm a daughter and a friend. I'm an expressive therapist working in a psychiatric hospital. I'm als a dancer... and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I lead groups using dance and movement as therapy for individuals in an acute psychiatric hospital. Basically what that means about my interests is that I love dancing and I love learning about and helping people. All of the above have brought joy to me throughout my life. Also, for the last ten years or so, I've caught the bug to travel. I've lived in France and Cameroon, and I've visited 15 countries and many states. I can't wait to continue my travels and learn more about the world around me. Life's an adventure, and you never know what it's going to throw your way. Let's see what comes next!

Why I am a Mormon

I've been a Mormon my whole life, but I've always lived in areas where there weren't many Mormons. Therefore, I've always had friends who were good about asking me questions about my beliefs. It's given me the opportunity to really pray and consider what it means to me to be a Mormon. I am a Mormon because I believe in the doctrines of the gospel of Jesus Christ. I am a Mormon because the values that this Church teaches have made me the person I am today. I am a Mormon because it has brought me closer to my savior Jesus Christ and my loving Heavenly Father. I am a Mormon because I want to continue to learn and to improve myself so I can become the best person that I can be.

How I live my faith

Whether it's helping sisters struggle through the hardships in their life, providing food for a congregation of single adults, or teaching some of our sunday classes, service is an essential way I live my faith. This service extends beyond assignments I receive at church though. I'm grateful for the assignments I'm given, but I also know its important for me to listen to the holy spirit and recognize ways that I also can reach out and help those around me. Service is one of the ways that I can feel close to my savior and strive to be like him. In addition to service, I think its also important to continue to study and pray. I strive to study scriptures and other church literature on a daily basis so I can continue to grow in my own understanding of my beliefs.

What do Mormons believe is the purpose of life?

The purpose of this life is to be continually progressing, improving ourselves, and gaining experience. To me that is so exciting. It means we are never done learning and discovering new things about who we are and who we can become. It's exciting to know that we all have so much potential. We are also sent to earth to gain bodies. Bodies are an extraordinary blessing, and there is so much we can learn just from having a body. As a dancer, I feel like I've been given so many opportunities to learn from my body. We were given bodies to experience the joys and trials of mortal life. I know its an important part of why we came to earth and I am so grateful for that gift. Show more Show less

What blessings can we receive through the gift of the Holy Ghost?

The Holy Ghost is one of the greatest blessings in my life. After we are baptized we are confirmed members of our church, and we receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. It truly is a gift. This means that the Holy Ghost is a constant companion who provides comfort and peace. The Holy Ghost is also a teacher and helps to learn and understand many things about the world around us. Most importantly thought the Holy Ghost is a witness of the truthfulness of the gospel. When we feel the Holy Ghost, it testifies to us that what we are learning is true. I am so grateful for the knowledge and power that comes with the gift of the Holy Ghost. Show more Show less
