Hi I'm Pee Jay

I like Disney movies, chocolate milk, laughing so hard that my abs hurt the next day and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am 20 years old and I grew up in a town in California called Laguna Niguel. I am a lover of life; I try to give my all in every situation. I have recently returned from a full-time 2 year mission from Tallahassee Florida. Through serving God I have really gained a stronger testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I have also learned more about what God wants for me. How He sees me. Christ said, “whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it.” I know that statement to be true. I feel that as I have given up so much time and so many resources to serve Him I have found great joy in the work that I am engaged in. I love my family; I have the best Dad, Mom and Sister that this Earth has to offer. I love my family, my country and my God.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a household with the two greatest people ever. These two taught me so much in my youth. My mother showed me courage and taught me to always keep trying. My father is a master of integrity and he showed me what it means to be honest always. When I was nine years old some friends from my mom’s church were invited into our home. They talked to me about doctrines of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Not long after their initial visit I was baptized into the Mormon Church. To be very honest I did not know a whole lot about the Mormon Church then. As I grew up I did not attend church very regularly until middle and high school. Still I did not have a great knowledge of what everything meant but I knew this; I was where God wanted me to be. After I graduated high school I attended a year of schooling at Brigham Young University Idaho where I was surrounded by members of the Church. I felt their warmth and I discovered what it meant to truly be a disciple of Jesus Christ. I knew what God wanted for me next. He had plans for me serve Him as a full-time two year missionary. I have been serving as a missionary for over a year now and nothing I have done in the past comes close the feelings that I feel while serving God. Before serving a mission I did not know much about the doctrines of the Restored Gospel of Jesus Christ but now that I have had time to study and learn about them I know that God has again blessed the Earth with a Prophet and I am so grateful for that. I am grateful that God has blessed me so much in my life already. I know that Jesus Christ is my Savior and I know that through Him all can be cleansed. The Church has given me so much to be thankful for, especially the testimony of my Savior.

How I live my faith

Faith is a principle of action. So what that means is that we have to decide that we are going to faithful to our religion, and then do it. As I live my faith I try to be an example to my friends and those people who I am not yet friends with yet. Paul said to Timothy, “be thou an example of the believers”. That is what I try to do. I try to always wear a smile and have a good time. I feel that Jesus wants us to be cheerful. Now don’t get me wrong there is a time to be serious and a time for laughter, and I feel that I feel closer to Christ as I find joy in everything. I live my faith by trying to look at things through heaven’s eyes.

What do Mormons believe concerning the doctrine of grace?

Pee Jay
Grace is a means of strength that is given to the children of men through Jesus Christ and the love that He has for us. It is a divine means of help and strength. God’s plan is to bring all of us, His spiritual children, back to Him. Because we are not perfect like Him we fall short of His glory. That is where grace comes in. Grace allows us to accomplish things that we could in no way accomplish without the aid of God. God can only give us this divine means of strength when we are obedient to Him. Nephi, a Book of Mormon prophet, has said this concerning grace, “for we know that it is by grace that we are saved, after all we can do.” God gives us the aid to be strong when it seems as though we cannot. I know that grace is a principle of both faith and action, as we serve God He will buoy us up. Show more Show less
