Hi I'm Ammon

I love Mexican food, I'm probably going to be a rock star/ninja/superhero someday, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I guess I'm a funloving guy who tries to get along with everybody that I meet. I often do really weird things that usually involve dressing up in obnoxious costumes and/or singing at the top of my lungs. If something is weird, I'm usually a part of it. I love people! The world is awesome, and I think it's so great that our Heavenly Father has created so many of us with different personalities and from different backgrounds. I guess you could consider me a pretty unique individual, and I think that's because I hang out with a variety of people, and I try to emulate all the good things I see in the people that I love. As far as my hobbies, I like to do anything that involves being creative. That includes music, filmmaking, writing, art. I can't say that I'm a virtuoso at anything, but I love to create whenever I have the opportunity. I love performing and I'm planning on getting in the film program at Brigham Young University, with the intent of being a filmmaker someday. Although I love to have fun, my top priorities are God, family, and serving my fellow brothers and sisters, in that order. I believe that when those are your priorities, everything else will fall in its proper place.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because my Heavenly Father has blessed me to know that this gospel is true. I have studied and prayed to come to this knowledge, and I have seen God's hand pointing to this gospel and continually giving me guidance. The message of the Book of Mormon is true, and it has helped me to realize that Jesus Christ lives, and is the Savior of the World. I can honestly say that through my own experience, I know that this church has the Lord's truth for everybody! No matter what your background or experience is, God loves you and appreciates you. All the good that he has given you prepares you for the fulness of the truth you will find in this gospel!

How I live my faith

I personally study the scriptures daily so that I can know what God wants me to do in my life and to remember the things He has asked me to do so that I can be with Him and my family forever. I pray to my Heavenly Father as much as I can to thank him for all the wonderful things He has blessed me with and to ask him for help in doing what's right. I strive to keep that personal relationship with God so that I can become more like Him and be united with Him. I recently finished my service as a missionary for the church for two years. For that time I put aside all other interests and shared the truths of his gospel with everybody that I come in contact with. Since then, I have tried to continue my service to God by meeting his children and trying to do what He would do if he was here on the earth. Most of the time that just means trying to be the best friend I can be to everybody around me. I'm far from perfect, but he helps me do my best!

Why are only some Mormons allowed into temples? Is there something secret going on in Mormon Temples? What goes on in Mormon Temples?

Ammon
Temples are absolutely wonderful! We go inside the temple to learn and feel God's Spirit. We prepare ourselves so that we are ready for the sacred and special atmosphere of the temple, and we hope that all people can enter someday. In the temple, we perform special ordinances that allow our families to be together forever and come closer to Jesus Christ. Show more Show less

Who wrote the Book of Mormon?

Ammon
The Book of Mormon was written by several ancient prophets who lived on the American continent. Their writings were preserved on a set of golden plates, and several hundred years later the prophet Joseph Smith translated them through the power of God. Everything in the Book of Mormon points to Jesus Christ and how we can come closer to Him. Show more Show less
