Hi I'm Abraham Darais

I am a security manager, husband, father and Latter-Day Saint.

About Me

I was raised in Utah and lived there until I left for Philadelphia to attend the Wharton School of Business. After my Sophomore year, I took time off to be a missionary in Chicago, IL Spanish speaking. After finishing my time at Wharton, I moved back to Chicago to take a job with Guardsmark security. In Chicago I met the love of my life, Lily. Still working for Guardsmark, I now live in Salt Lake with my wife and daughter.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised Mormon, but shortly before my mission I became very concerned about my belief system. I knew my religion was good, but I wanted to know if it was true. Since that time of concern, I have had repeated undeniable experiences that have enabled me to know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is not only a good church, but a true church.

How I live my faith

I think at the end of the day, I am just wanting and trying to be happy like anyone else. I am happiest when I feel close to God, and that closeness is generally attained through prayer, obedience to His counsel and service. Admittedly, I fall short all the time, but as I rely on Christ's Atonement, I have found bountiful peace and joy in this life, which is clearly undeserved.
