Hi I'm Jennifer

I'm an avid reader, an organizing guru, I hate cooking, I love to dance, and I'm a Mormon

About Me

I am married and I have 3 children. I graduated with a BA in French. I love learning about other cultures, and languages. I love reading, dancing, and playing family card games (non gambling). I am a bit of an organizing fanatic. I hate to cook, but enjoy baking. I have traveled to other countries, danced in front of thousands of people, and have experienced 3 miraculous adoptions (my children).

Why I am a Mormon

I am a mormon because I believe in Jesus Christ. I know He is my personal Savior and the Savior of the world. I have come to a knowledge that His gospel, which was lost after the deaths of His apostles, has been restored to the earth at a time when we all need God more than ever. God has always spoken to us through prophets, and I know that President Thomas S. Monson is His prophet for us today. I am a mormon because I believe this church is the true Church of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by striving to love and serve others as Jesus did. I try to show compassion and tolerance when I am confronted with opposition. I feel joy in teaching Sunday School for our youth at church and when I volunteer at my children's school for feildtrips and celebrations. When I live my faith and I am obedient to God's commandments my faith in God increases. I can feel happiness, even when I am going through hard times.

What is done with the tithing that Mormons pay?

God has always asked His children to sacrifice and pay a tithe. These tithes are sacred and are used for sacred things. The tithing I pay, and that each member pays, goes towards building chapels and temples where we can gather together to worship God and rejoice in the blessings He bestows upon us. Tithing is also used to help run the affairs of the church. Tithing is used with prudence and honesty. Show more Show less

Why is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints called Mormons or Mormonism?

The Prophet Joseph Smith was given, by the angel Moroni, sacred texts written by Prophets who lived on the American Continent beginning around 600 BC. This book, made of golden plates, was written in Egyptian. The prophet Joseph Smith, through the power of God, translated these texts into English. One of the Prophets in this book was named Mormon. He abridged many of the plates and texts and therefore the book is called, "The Book of Mormon, Another Testament of Jesus Christ". Because we believe the Book of Mormon to be the word of God and use it in our church instruction, we have been given the name of "Mormons". We revere Mormon as a prophet of God, however, we worship the only true God, our Savior, Jesus Christ. Show more Show less

What is the Word of Wisdom that Mormons talk about?

The Word of Wisdom was revealed to Joseph Smith in the 1800's. It consists mainly of counsel from the Lord to refrain from addictive substances such as alcohol, drugs, tobacco, coffee, and tea. It also counsels us to eat grains, vegetables, meat, and other healthy foods. It counsels us to get sufficient rest at night so that we may have strength during the day. It is basically the Lord's guidebook for healthy living. Now, after more than 100 years have passed, this revelation, the Word of Wisdom, is proving through scientifc means to be a truly healthy lifestyle. Show more Show less
