Hi I'm Amber

I am a 29 year old online marketing director. I have 5 kids, and I am a mormon.

About Me

I live with my husband and 5 kids. We own a web development firm where I manage all client accounts and also handle all the online marketing. My job is to make sure our clients reach the top of the search engines. I have 5 amazing kids and a husband who loves me. I kind of feel spoiled because I love being around my family so much and we get to laugh so much.

Why I am a Mormon

Raising a family is not easy. Starting a family at 15.... would seem impossible. After my 2nd child was born (at 17) I was struggling with the stereotype I felt I belonged to. My husband and I adored each other and worked hard to be the best parents we could to our children, but I still personally struggled with my age and my selfish teenage tendencies. I felt that I did not deserve to feel pride for my children and love them like a mother should. I felt ashamed. My husband saw my struggles and mentioned that reading the Book of Mormon might give me some extra strength to overcome my internal battles. My husband and I both had LDS backgrounds, but had long been disconnected from the church. So I started reading. It felt like a drug. As soon as I started practicing what the Book of Mormon suggested, like praying, I felt my burdens lighten and my love for myself and my children overwhelmed me. Today I have 5 of the greatest kids in the world. They are leaders wherever they go and their strength amazes me. I know that because I am a Mormon I have the self esteem I need to give my children strength, and to be a good mom and a good person no matter what my age is. I know that Heavenly Father has been there to support me and my family through all these years. I would not have been able to overcome all the odds that were against me if it were not for being a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I am a girls camp director. I get to help plan a fun trip with the young ladies of our ward that will help them get closer to God, and enjoy nature.

Do Mormons regard the Bible as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

Amber
When I first started investigating the Book of Mormon, I was frustrated because the authors kept referring to stories in the Bible that I didn't yet know about like Nephi teaching about "Moses and The Brass Serpent" 1 Nephi 17:41. I finally decided to read the entire Bible from start to finish so I would know the stories. My 2 young babies slept for 2 hours each afternoon and I dedicated those whole 2 hours to reading the Bible until I finished. I can testify that the Bible and Book of Mormon go hand in hand, and support the truth of both books. Reading the Bible helped me strengthen my total belief in the Book of Mormon and the Book of Mormon confirmed the truth of the Bible. Show more Show less
