Hi I'm Michael

I'm a college student working on a degree in choral music education. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm studying in college to become a music teacher. When I graduate, I hope to teach high school choir. I have a wonderful wife and one baby on the way. I love music, reading, and spending time in the great outdoors, but more than anything, I love spending time with my family.

Why I am a Mormon

Although it could be said that I originally became a Mormon simply because my parents told me that's what I should do, that is certainly not why I'm still a Mormon. Countless blessings have come my way as a result of my being a Mormon. I first learned for myself that what my parents had taught me was true one evening when I was praying to God and asking Him to let me know if the teachings of the gospel were indeed true. That night was the first of many answers to prayer that I received from God. He let me know it was indeed true. Although I have had many confirmations of that answer since then, that experience remains the most powerful for me. In addition to answers from God to my questions about the truth of the Mormon church, I'm also still a Mormon because it brings so much happiness in my life. I can't think of a single good thing in my life that hasn't been a result of my faith in Jesus Christ, and my membership in this church.

How I live my faith

In my ward, I'm responsible for helping members learn how to research their family histories. It's wonderful to see the excitement of families as they discover new things about their ancestors. I also regularly visit several families in the ward to teach them a short gospel message and to ensure that their physical and spiritual needs are being met. Visiting these families has been a great opportunity for me to get to know people in the ward better and develop strong friendships with these people. It's amazing to me that when I serve in the church, I always get far more than I put into it. It's just another witness to me that the Lord takes care of His children on the earth.
