Hi I'm Rex!

I grew up as, am now and forever will be a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a fun loving 21 year old who just got home from a wonderfull 2 year mission for the church. I grew up in a family of 7 on a ranch with horses, cows, pigs, chickens and lots of alfalfa. I was involved in just about everything you could think of , Boy Scouts, various choirs and bands, drama, NHS, outdoors club, soccer, basketball, track, and any other sport people play, ping pong, tennis, volleyball, swimming. I worked as a lifeguard for four years and always tried to balance my school work and the work that needed to be done on the ranch. I always had a blast doing all of these great things but the thing that always brought me the most joy has always been spending time and making memories with my family. On my mission I learned spanish and hope to use it throughout my life. I am now going to college and trying to make the best of every moment I have. I am not 100% sure what the future holds but the goals include a wife and kids, a good job and a lifelong commitment to the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Why I am a Mormon

I guess you could say that I am a Mormon because my parents forced me to. J/K No, but seriously I was raised in a strong Mormon family where I was made (forced) to go to church every week and was taught the gospel of Jesus Christ. When I was 8 years old my father baptized me and I was officially made a member but the conversion process didn't stop there. I have slowly grown my testimony of this church and this gospel and THAT is why I am a Mormon. I will forever be gratefull to my parents for always making me go to church.(=

How I live my faith

I just got home from two years of full time service for the church and I am now trying to balance my life so I can still be of as much service as possible. I am always looking for ways to help out and continue the missionary purpose of bringing souls to Christ

How are modesty and chastity related? How can parents teach their children to be modest in dress, language and behavior?

Rex!
Chastity is the sacred law of God that prohibits sexual relations between ANYONE before marriage. The only reason this law is ever broken is because of the temptation of carnal sensuality. What we see and what we think leads to actions. This is why pornagraphy is so destructive, because it leads to breaking this law. When people dress imodestly with tight or revealing clothing it leads the people around them to have immoral thoughts that could eventually lead to actions. In this way people that aren't carefull with how they dress become live pornagraphy and a temptation to those around them. Parents can best teach there children to be modest by being an example to them. and dressing in a way where they would feel comfortable if they were in the presence of their Savior Jesus Christ.
