Hi I'm Jed

I grew up all over the United States. I'm an inventor, a swimmer, I'm finally a college graduate and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a father and a husband. I have a wonderful wife and 4 children. I enjoy swimming even though I am completely out of shape. I like to play paintball and listen to music too loud. I like most kinds of music, I am not a big opera fan. My favorite car is the Corvette, I doubt I will ever own one much bigger than a matchbox car. It is not a priority in my life. I would rather spend time with my family. We like to play games and go camping with our extended family. My wife plays piano and violin, my son plays violin and flute, my daughter plays violin and I can play a stereo. I recently graduated college. It seemed to take much longer than expected. I am grateful for the support and encouragement from my family. I love to eat different foods. I especially enjoy an authentic Brazilian steakhouse.

Why I am a Mormon

I love to learn about religions. I am fascinated by how much we have in common with so many religions. I learned as a teenager that I could find the answers to the most difficult of life's questions in the scriptures. I had a friend who was determined to prove to me that being a Mormon was wrong. For over a year we discussed religion. He brought question after question from every source he could come up with to prove to me that I was lost. I could find an answer to every question and concern in The Book of Mormon, Bible or Doctrine and Covenants. I learned that I could find the answers to concerns in the writings of the prophets. As I studied and attended other religions I always felt that something was missing. Some were educational, others were exciting and several were just fun, but they weren't complete. Looking back I recognize that they were missing the guidance of a living prophet who teaches us what Jesus Christ wants us to know in our time. A prohet and apostles that testify of a living and loving Christ who knows each one of us. I am a Mormon because I have been blessed with a testimony of the truthfulness of the gospel. I have felt the promptings of the Holy Ghost bearing witness of the truthfulness of the gospel as I have seen and listened to prophets and apostles of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints testifying of the life of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I have been working with the youth in the church. For the last seven years I have been able to work with the Boy Scout Troop in our church unit or ward. The scout program had almost stopped functioning. With the help of others, we have been able to re-organize the Troop and establish a love of Scouting in our young men's organization. We are expecting to have our first Eagle scout this year, with several on track to follow in the near future. I love scouting. It is a wonderful program that helps young men learn about their responsibilities to the community as well as to their God. I am grateful to have been a part of so many young lives as they grow up and prepare for life. I have been able to participate in several community service activities that were organized by the Church. From cleaning up in our community to traveling to assist in natural disaster clean up. I was able to help some of the people who were affected by the tornados last year. We moved trees and cleaned up debris, but I think the most important thing I did was listen to the stories of those who lost much in the tornados. The people were grateful to have others to share their burdens.
