Hi I'm Andrew

I love biking in -30 degree weather, I love the mountains, I served as a full-time missionary in Minnesota, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to be fun. I have a lot of friends and I am always excited to make a new one. I am the second of six kids and I love it. I have two sisters and 3 brothers. I have an amazing family that is always there for me. My parents are divorced are still good friends. I love my parents as well as my step-father. They all do so much for me. I am grateful that I have them all in my life for the support they give me. I went to school to study Accounting and I plan to continue that education when I go home. I love to read, sing, run, play sports, and talk about the Gospel. I love life and I am grateful that I am on the earth at this time. I enjoy biking and being outside. The world is an amazing place to be in. I am serving as a missionary for the Chruch of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Minnesota Minneapolis Mission. There are around 200 of us serving here right now and over 50,000 missionaries serving world wide. I love what I do and I wouldn't give this up for the world. I have seen so many people change their lives through the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a mormon because of the great joy that it brings into my life. Growing up I have had so much fun traveling around the county, touring through Europe, and being active in all that I do. Even though these activities were fun and I will always remember them, the greatest joy I have ever felt has come from being active in the church. The best experience to relate to this was when my Dad ordained me to be an Elder in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. On that day I felt that God was watching out for me and that He loved me. I know that when I am doing what our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ ask me to do I find that great peace and comfort that has been promised to us. I am proud to be a Mormon.

How I live my faith

Right now I am a student at a wonderful university and I am doign my best to progess in life. I am able to do this best by focusing on the important things. Going to church, reading my scriptures, and praying. Life is full of great and new challanges each day. By taking each day for what it is I have been able to see Gods hand in my life and learn from it. Another way I life my faith is by talking about the mission I was able to serve. I was called by God to serve the people in Minnesota and I loved it. I love the people in Minnesota and I am grateful that I was given the chance to get to know so many of them. I live my faith best by focusing on the simple things of the Gospel. As I have tried to bring balance into my life I have seen great things happen.

Does The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints endorse political parties?

Andrew
No. The church has taught us to pray for guidance from our Heavenly Father in all that we do. Including how we vote. The church does not support any party and will not tell us how to vote. Show more Show less

How can I know Mormonism is true?

Andrew
The best way to know this is by asking God. The last Prophet to write in the Book of Mormon, Moroni, left us his testimony with a promise. The tells us to read the book, think of all the great things God has done for man since Adam and Eve, to ponder in your heart the message of the book, and then to ask God if it is true. He promises us that anyone who asks God with a sincere heart, real intent, and faith in Christ WILL recieve an answer through the power of the Holy Ghost. The last part of his promise is the greatest. He says, "and by the power of the Holy Ghost, ye may know the truth of all things." Moroni 105 This is the way you can know if Mormonism is true. Are Mormons Christians?

Andrew
Absolytly no doubt about it, Mormons are Christians. We know that Jesus Christ is our Savior. I know that I must rely entirely on Jesus Christ if I have any hope for a life after this. Show more Show less

What is the Book of Mormon?

Andrew
The Book of Mormon is another volume of holy scripture compairable to the BIble. It contains the fullness of the everlasting Gospel. It is a record of a people that lived here in the Americas. These people knew that Jesus Christ was their Savior. They knew that they had to have faith, repent of their sins, be baptized by immersion, recieve the Gift of the Holy Ghost, and faithfully endure to the end of our lives. They knew that God loved them. The Book of Mormon teaches us that we are all Gods children and that he speaks to his children all around the world. Show more Show less

Why don’t Mormons drink coffee, tea, or alcohol? What is the Mormon Church’s law of health and proper diet?

Andrew
We don't drink coffee, tea, or alcohol because we believe that God has commanded us not to. Joseph Smith recieved the revelation know to us as the Word of Wisdom and it councils us not to partake of strong or hot drinks or tobacco. It also tells us to eat good things like grains, herbs, fruits, vegetables, and meats. The Word of Wisdom helps us keep our bodies healthy. Prophets later have taught us that strong or hot drinks mean alcohol, tea, and coffee. The law of health helps me because I will avoid a lot of the health problems associated with these things. The biggest reason that I follow this law is because I trust that Joseph Smith truly was a prophet of God and I will follow the council of the Prophets. Show more Show less
