Hi I'm Ivan

I grew up on the US/Mexico border. I love to travel. I like learning new things. I'm a people person. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I enjoy helping people. It's a huge passion of mine. I love engaging in just about every form of art; whether it be music, photography, cinematography, graphic design or acting. I'm a double major (Psychology and Communications) with a minor in Acting. I own my own business and am in the process of expanding it to Florida. I love my friends, family, and most importantly, Jesus Christ. :)

Why I am a Mormon

Growing up, I was always in my own little world. I always felt safe and never really had to worry about anything else. I had a home, shoes on my feet, and money in my pocket. To me, it was almost perfect... One day that perfect little world came to a crash. My family went through some really tough times. I found myself feeling unhappy. It came to the point to where I felt like my life had no purpose. I even felt like no one cared about me. I continued living life. I hid behind a smile and tried to keep a positive attitude. It was the only thing I knew how to do. Later in life I got involved with a company and as a result of it, I met tons of new people. Many of these people were Mormons. I noticed that they were all extraordinary people with great values and tons of humility. It caught my eye because back in my little world that was a rare trait. On November 2009, I got to go to the Salt Lake Conference Center to attend a concert. As I was walking out, a woman was filling out cards to have missionaries visit homes. I decided not to fill one out.. It thought it wasn't for me. Later that same year, a family friend invited us to 'Music and the Spoken Word' During the service, I felt the Spirit. It was indescribable. It was then that I realized that I needed to take a look at this; that there was something there. I taking the lessons from the missionaries in July and got baptized August 14th, 2010. Since then, I've been happier than I've ever been and my life's changed completely. I know that this is the true church. I know that the Book of Mormon is the Word of God and I believe that Joseph F. Smith was a prophet.

How I live my faith

I attend church every Sunday and participate in every program/activity that I can. I live my faith through being an example to everyone around me. I constantly smile and start conversation with everyone in hopes of brightening their day. I participate in community service and share His story whenever I can. :)

What is Mormonism? OR What do Mormons believe?

Mormons believe in the Gospel of Jesus Christ. His gospel is the plan of happiness and salvation. Mormonism is really the study of God. It is based on the belief that God lives and active through modern prophets who receive revelation from Him. We believe that those who follow his commandments and live their faith will receive great blessings from God. Show more Show less
