Hi I'm Karen Leon

I grew up in Lima, Peru. I'm studying my Masters in Social Work in South Carolina and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a Psychologist studying my masters in Social Work in South Carolina and I love it! This brings me the opportunity to help other people in some ways I've never expected. I love my family so much! I always will love dinner time...we talk about everything and it's really fun. I like to go to church activities and go to the temple as often as I can.

Why I am a Mormon

A couple of Sister Missionaries knocked at my mother's door when I was 4 years old. They taught us the restored Gospel of Jesus Christ and my mom and my older brother were baptized. My mom was recovering from divorce and the Gospel came in her very desperate moment. Since then, our family has changed. My two brothers served missions and are married for eternity. I love this Gospel!! I've seen so many miracles in my life and my testimony has grown little by little. I know that Jesus Christs is my Savior and that His Gospel and Priesthood is now on earth to bless us.

How I live my faith

I love to spend time with the members of my ward, they are very kind and we love to work together. My calling or responsibility is to take pictures of everyone in my ward so we can get to know each other...It's really exciting!

What are Mormon women like? Do Mormons believe in equality of men and women?

Karen Leon
I am really blessed to be a women. The Lord needs both men and women to fulfill His Plan of Happiness. In “The Family: A Proclamation to the World” , says that "By divine design, fathers are to watch over and teach their families in love and righteousness. They are to provide the necessities of life and protection for their families. Mothers are primarily responsible for the nurture of their children. In these sacred responsibilities, fathers and mothers should help one another as equal partners." As a women in the Church, I have the privilege to serve the Lord in different callings and be part of the great army of missionaries preaching the Gospel all over the world. I am so blessed to have worthy Priesthood holders that can bless my life in time of need. Show more Show less
