Hi I'm Marie

I grew up in Idaho and love potatoes. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I enjoy reading and writing. I like to journal and learn about other people's backgrounds and lives.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because seeing things through an eternal perspective makes sense. So often I wonder why we are all so different. And I'm discovering, after watching over 35 nieces and nephews, that we are all so unique. Personalities develop the day that your born! Sometimes I feel like I'm so different. That is, and isn't, true at the same time. But it comforts me to know that my beginning did not begin with my earthly birth. And my existence will continue after my body stops. Seeing things in that manner helps me see a little more clearly.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by going to church every Sunday with my sister and her family. There, I attend meetings and am encouraged with insight and love I have felt there, to continue on another week.

What is faith?

I think there can be several great definitions of faith. But my favorite definition comes from a children's song that is sung in church. "Faith is knowing the sun will rise." When the sun goes down we can't see it. But we know it's there and we know it will shine in the east the next morning. I feel faith is a lot like that. We can't see what we are looking for occasionally. But when the sun goes down we have a choice. We can cry and fear not seeing the beautiful light again. Or we can calmly go to sleep, believing that tomorrow the light will return. For my sanity's sake (as well as many other reasons) I choose to have faith and believe "the sun will rise."
