Hi I'm Kris

I love to teach and to learn. I love life and my family. I am a Mormon

About Me

I am a mother of four and a grandmother of 13 beautiful grandchildren. I teach art history and the humanities at the local community college and would love to be a perpetual student. I love to learn, so when I drive to work and back I play lectures on astronomy, history, genetics, art, or just about anything humans have created. I like to quilt and scrapbook and play with beads. And I am a pushover for beautiful scenery.

Why I am a Mormon

The members of the church have become my family. I cherish their friendship and have learned to appreciate their differences. But the real reason to be a Mormon is not the friends, or the close social ties, it is feeling like you belong to the family of God. I feel included as a child of God and I feel loved.

How I live my faith

I have served in many volunteer positions in the church over the years, but I am currently teaching Sunday School to adults who are new to the church. What a joy it is to see their faith blossom and to help them understand that our Heavenly Father loves them. Sometimes people come to church afraid and battered by the world. They struggle in relationships, feel lonely, or just do not know who they are. The church has helped me learn who I am and helps me overcome the trials that come my way.
