Hi I'm Ben

I'm a California surfer, I'm a rock climber, and snow skier. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

i love playing and watching sports, especially baseball. I'm crazy about cars and racing and everything that goes along with that. My parents were raised on farms in Idaho, so they taught me to work hard and be appreciative of the things that i have. Of course, being from California, i fell in love with surfing and sometimes wish i could be a surf bum! I went to a year of college, but am currently serving a 2 year mission in Georgia. Spending time with my family is something i've always enjoyed.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in this church and was baptized when i was 8 years old.It was later in my life when i was truly converted to the gospel. I have read and studied the Book of Mormon, and i asked sincerly to know if it was the word of God. I felt an overwhelming feeling of peace and warmth that came from the Holy Ghost, or Holy Spirit, in answer to my prayers. Because i know this, i know that Jesus Christ is my savior, and the He has suffered for my sins, and that he has restored His gospel through the prophet Joseph Smith. Knowing that God has called prophets in these days helps me to know that God is still watching out for us and wants us to have more of His word. i have felt God's guidance in my life as i have tried to follow Jesus Christ, and i have a peace in my heart that give me great joy. its so awesome being happy and being mormon!!

How I live my faith

i live my faith by following Jesus Christ. it gives me great peace to know that what im doing here on earth is what He wants me to do. i love to share what i know to be true with others because if the gospel has given me such great happiness, it will do that for others. its also so important to me to be an example so that others will know my faith by my actions.

What is the First Vision?

in the early 1800s, Joseph Smith was 14, and he wanted to know what church he should join. He read in the bible: if any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God. he needed to find out for himself , and so he went to a nearby grove of trees to pray. in answer to his prayer, Heavenly Father and His son, Jesus Christ, appeared to him. they told him that he should join none of the churches, but in time the fullness of the gospel would be restored to the earth. what a miraculous experience! the heavens are open again, the priesthood has been restored, and it all started in that small grove of trees in upstate New York...
