Hi I'm Meaghan

I love to learn, I'm a teacher, I'm a friend, I'm a missionary, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm currently a college student, but taking a quick break to serve the Lord. I'm studying Biology and Earth Science Education and am planning to teach in high school. I love photography, movies, and music, and I'm always looking for a good book. I grew up in Las Vegas but have spent my formidable years in Kentucky. I love my family, they are great examples to me, especially my little brother who is currently serving a mission in California. I know that Jesus Christ is the foundation of my belief system and I'm happiest when I follow His plan.

Why I am a Mormon

I was first introduced to the church when my mom converted after marrying my step dad who is a life long member. I was in primary the first time I felt the spirit, and that is what has lead to me to continue being a member of this church. When I am connected to the spirit there is always a calm feeling in my soul. I know without a doubt that Heavenly Father is looking out for me. Being Mormon has allowed me the opportunity to truly study and come to understand the power of the Atonement. As I pray and read the scriptures I feel the spirit of the Lord and know that he has the power to protect me from the adversary. Life isn't easy being a member of the church, but it is better. I know that I'm doing what God has asked me to do because of personal revelation. The greatest testimony I can give is that I know He lives, He loves, and He provides.

How I live my faith

I am a sincere believer in teaching by example. I am not always surrounded by those who understand or even accept my faith. In order to stay faithful, I continue to live by the example that Heavenly Father has provided for us. As I live the laws and commandments of the Lord, I know that I'm blessed. I go out of my way to make sure that everyone is aware that I am a follower of Christ. Most of the time this results in random acts of kindness, a smile or a door held open is a way of expressing to others that they are important and a child of God. It truly brings great happiness to me to bring the Gospel to others. To recognize and experience the light of Christ in another person is like coming home to family. I make sure that the youth that are around me and even those my age recognize and understand that I strive to live my life as Christ did.

What are some of the ways that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints helps those around the world?

Meaghan
The church is greatly dedicated to humanitarian work. We learn from Christ that the true way to show our love for our Heavenly Father is to show our love to each other. Service is a foundation in this church we live by the idea that charity is the true love of Christ. We help people regardless of their background. You don't have to be a member of our church to receive services from church members. These actions can be as simple as picking weeds in a friend's garden to providing supplies to people stricken by natural disasters. We are dedicated to helping all people become the best versions of themselves. The church sponsors classes on addiction and debt and helps people to get back on their feet. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints holds no prejudice as to who it helps. If you need help there is no doubt in my mind that there is a Mormon out there ready to help you.
