Hi I'm Dalton

I'm a college student. I play tennis and the saxophone. I love the outdoors and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in northern Idaho and it has to be the one of the most awesome and beautiful places I have ever been. Nature is awesome. I love the outdoors and exploring. I like to figure out how things work. I love to take things apart and put them back together. Well, sometimes it doesn't make it back together. So I've been studying mechanical engineering in school.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm not going to lie, I was born into a Mormon family who taught me great values and to have faith in Christ and His Atonement. But it wasn't until I moved out of my parents house and made many of my own mistakes that I really understood what our church had to offer. I had hit the point where I had to learn for myself how repentance worked. It was a hard process but in the end I found out how much God loves me and why He has done certain things for me in my life, one of them was me being a Mormon. The knowledge that comes from being a member of this church has helped me to find the greatest peace and happiness I could possibly have.

How I live my faith

After I learned for myself about faith and repentance and wanted to help others gain this knowledge for themselves so I signed up to go on a two year mission. Served in Georgia helping others learn more about Christ, but recently returned to Idaho and am again going to school. Mainly I strive to be an example to all those around me, being friendly to all, and looking for different ways to help them by listening to their words and concerns.

What is Mormonism? OR What do Mormons believe?

Dalton
Many have written books on this question so I will try to be as brief as possible. We believe that God is our Heavenly Father who loves us and wants us to become more like him. He presented a plan for us to do so. It was to come down to earth and be tested to see if we would follow Him. He knew we would mess up so he provided a way to save us from our mistakes. This way was through Jesus Christ who is central to God's plan for us. Christ suffered for our sins so we could return and live with God. But we have to do our part by having faith in Jesus Christ and his Atonement, repenting of our sins, being baptized, receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost and doing our best to follow God for the remainder of our lives. When we die we are judged according to our desires and if they are good we will live with our Heavenly Father and our families again. God has given us many tools to help us along the way. Things like prophets, the priesthood, scriptures, prayer, and commandments that if we follow we will find happiness. Show more Show less
