Hi I'm Steve

I'm a Mormon. I reside in a part member family and actively participate in church activities.

About Me

I'm married and a father of two sons. I'm retired, I worked for a municipal electrical provider after 34 years. My hobbies are gardening and raising animals for food for my family and friends, other hobbies include working with metal and wood.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into part member family and attended church for the first 14 years of my life. I was inactive for a 20 year span. I returned to the church after 20 years of inactivity, because I had a belief that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Saints was the true church of Jesus Christ. Upon my returned I sought confirmation through prayer that the Book of Mormon was true and received such confirmation through the Holy Ghost. Because of the confirmation I received, I know The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the Lord's restored chruch.

How I live my faith

I attend church meetings on a regular basis, these meeting are important to me, it's a time to worship with friends and gain knowledge and strength. One of the assignments we have as priesthood holders is to visit families of the church in their homes. As we visit these families, we are friends and teachers, we exhort them to read the scriptures and pray. We also enquire to see if they are in need, this can be temporally or spiritually. There are many wonderful experiences to be had by serving others in this way.

How does the Church finance its operations?

Through tithing, which is considered 10% of your increase (Salary or Wages), and also donations to such areas such as Missionary, Perpetual Education, Humanitarian, Fast Offerings to name a few. All of these come from the membership of the church. Show more Show less

Why is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints called Mormons or Mormonism?

We are called Mormons because we believe that The Book of Mormon is sacred scripture which testifies of Jesus Christ. Just like the Holy Bible, The Book of Mormon is testament of Jesus Christ. We use The Book of Mormon as companion to the Holy Bible, thus the term Mormon. Show more Show less
