Hi I'm Greg

I'm a computer geek. I love my family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Ever since I laid my hands on my father's Apple IIe, I've been a computer geek. (I was seven?). I love to tinker with Android phones, Arduinos, python, web sites -- basically anything I can get my (figurative) hands on! I'm an electrical engineer by trade, but a computer geek by practice. I'm married and have two gorgeous little daughters. I tell them each individually that they are the "cutest little girl in the whole wide world" and have made them each a little jingle (song) to that effect. I love to ride by bike to work (about 20 miles round trip), even in the hot 115 degree Arizona sun. Riding it a good time to listen to books on tape, talk to the occasional fellow rider, or just think.

Why I am a Mormon

Knowing the plan of salvation -- where I came from, why I'm here, and what lies beyond death -- gives me a great sense of spiritual identity and direction, without which I can't imagine living. All major decisions in my life are influenced by this knowledge, and many of the small ones too! These truths were originally taught to me by my wonderful parents and have been confirmed to me by experiences throughout my life.

How I live my faith

I try to serve those around me. In my particular neighborhood, the lawns are relatively small. Whenever I drag the mower out, I'm always sure to trim, mow, and sweep each of my neighbor's lawns. With the recent housing crisis, a lot of people have been moving in and out of the neighborhood, and I've been able to help about a dozen families move. I also volunteer on the executive board of a charity which runs a number of schools in Central America. I'm their in-house computer geek!
