Hi I'm Jake

Im a ping pong player, I love to have a good laugh with family, I can cook.. sometimes, and Im a mormon!

About Me

Hi Im Jake, im serving a mission in Everett Washington. I have played baseball all my life and love it. I love playing Ping Pong and going on extreme hikes. My little brother is my best friend. I want to be a teacher and help inspire kids to achieve their life goals. I love life, and getting that sore abs feeling after laughing so much. I know Jesus Christ is my Savior, and I have the Best Family ever!

Why I am a Mormon

The gospel of Jesus Christ is the most important part in my life, without a doubt. As i mentioned before, i was converted at the age of 12 by my best friend Cameron. We grew up together and he would always ask me to come to church with him sunday mornings, after being annoyed so many times i finally agreed to come see what the fuss was about. Thats all it took was one time to come to church and i was hooked. My dad has always been a member but went inactive when my my mom and him were married because she is not a member. While growing up i went to church alone, but i was able to sit with my friend cameron. Now that my mission is so close to coming up my dad has become active again and my little brother too. My dad and I took our endowments out together, it was the most amazing experience of my life. Living in the chruch sometimes isnt the easiest thing to do, because of all te "rules" to follow. But i dont think of them as just commandments, i look at is as God our Heavenly Father giving us guidence on how to make our lives as happy as they can be. I love God and our savior Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost. I can honestly say i dont know wherer i would be if i didnt have this beautiful chruch to guide me in my life.  Now I am out on His errand doing whatever he has me do. since serving a mission my eyes have been opened to the world and so much of what it has in it. I have personally seen the Atonement change my life and I have seen it change others lives. Getting back to the original question, why im a Mormon, is because of the pure love i feel from Heavenly Father and the times that He has personally blessed me to know this is his church, and the countless other blessings he has givin me.

How I live my faith

I am serving a mission right now so I strive to live the gospel to the fullest. As a missionary I do my best to always remember everything that our Heavenly Father has done for me. Sometimes i dont think we realize how much He has had a hand in our lives but when we take some time to step back and look at all the Blessings he showers us with we know he is there with us helping us every day. I try to always show Christ though myself because as members of his church, we need to always be doing what he would want us to do and help as many people as we can.

What is the Book of Mormon?

Jake
The Book of Mormon, as it states on the front cover is another testament of Jesus Christ. It is proof that Joseph Smith was called of God to be a prophet again on the Earth and evidence that Jesus is our Savior and through him we can be saved. In the introduction, it states that the Book of Mormon is the "keystone of our religion." I have personally found comfort beyond measure by reading the Book of Mormon. I feel happy, and loved by our Heavenly Father and it helps me to see how i can handel difficult situations. I love the Book of Mormon, it is the word of God and I know that by truly reading, and willing to act on your answer, you will come to know its a true book and this is His gospel. What is faith?

Jake
Faith is working for something you want to know the truth of. Such as if you want to know if we have a Father in Heaven, you cant just sit there and wonder, that is just one peice of the puzzle. You need to pray, ponder, and seek out to see if He is there. You cant just know the Book of Mormon is true by looking at the front cover, you need to "ponder the message, ask God the Eternal Father in the name of Christ,"(Moroni 10:4) and be willing to act on the answer we get. Having faith is a "hope for things which are not seen, which are true."(Alma:32:21) Having faith is so key to our lives because its the key for us to start on the path of following our Father in Heaven and his chosen Savior Jesus Christ. What will the Mormon missionaries talk about when they visit my home?

Jake
Serving as a missionary right now, I have found that the message we share is 100 percent focused on our Savior Jesus Christ and the great Plan of Happiness from our Father in Heaven. It truly is a message from the Heavens and will bring your family closer together if you let it. Missionaries simply invite others to come to Christ, by showing that the church founded by Jesus Christ is back on the earth today, by having faith in Christ, repenting of sins, entering the waters of baptism, recieving the Holy Ghost, and enduring our lives to the end following the Plan of Happiness. The way to find out if this is all true or not is by reading from the Book of Mormon, and trusting in our Father to answer our prayers if it is true. Show more Show less
