Hi I'm Anne

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have a degree in “Family and Consumer Science Education” and am a teacher and homemaker at heart. I like to garden, bake, sew and do all things crafty, as well as host and bring people together. Although I love to nestle up reading books full of wisdom, I also like a good adventure, and enjoy traveling, hiking, and seeing and trying new things. It may be in my nature to have things planned, but oh how I find it such a thrill to "let go of the details" and have a spontaneous excursion. Laughing at myself, pumpkin pie, playing & watching sports, Reeses, inspiring quotes, teaching the gospel, and spending time with my family are some of my simple joys in life!

Why I am a Mormon

Being Mormon makes me happy! I like to use analogies so here we go.. :) I have worn contacts or glasses since I was 12. Recently I fulfilled a goal to have Lasik eye surgery. Being able to see perfectly now has not just given me perfect vision, but made me to want to tell everyone (everywhere) about it, "Go check out getting Lasik, and see!” That is what my Mormon faith does for me and why it makes me happy! I can see with an eternal perspective and not just the here and now; I know who I am, what mine and your potential is, and what this earth life is all about. I can see that God’s plan for us goes beyond the grave, and I know that I will be able to be with my loved ones again, including my Dad, who has passed on. As a Mormon, I am blessed with the knowledge of this special relationship I have with God, as His Daughter. I know God compassionately listens to me pouring out my heart and soul as I share the events of my day, my stories, my concerns, etc. The joy and comfort I have received from prayer has made all the difference in my life. I know that Christ’s original church and doctrine is upon the earth today. Miracles still exist. A living Prophet leads His church just as Moses, Noah, Adam of old. Families and our spirits exist beyond the grave. I also know that it is through Christ’s atonement that I can achieve my potential by receiving His strength, power, forgiveness, and mercy. I love being a Mormon and want to share this eternal vision with everyone (everywhere). “Go check this out and see!"

How I live my faith

Being optimistic, faith-centered, keeping the commandments, and being cheerful are how I try to live my faith. I love studying the scriptures too! So much to learn and grow from each time I open and read. When the going ever gets tough (which we all know it can), I know that my faith- put into action (praying constantly, seeking after his wisdom, and choosing to believe in God)- will keep me moving in the direction I ultimately want to go in. Constant prayers keep me focused on the things that matter most and with a perspective beyond today. So grateful for prayer! This enables me to continue to (1) have the hope, (2) the confidence and peace, and (3) the optimism and joy, my faith in God should produce. Living with faith in Christ brings me so much joy and happiness!
