Hi I'm Angie

I graduated with a degree in English Education. I am a wife and a mother of one. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a stay-at-home mom and I love it! Being a mom is the greatest gift my Heavenly Father has ever given me (except the gift of my dear sweet husband). It's the most exhausting, exhilirating, and wonderful thing to raise a child. There are times when it is hard, but when you see your sweet baby accomplish something for the very first time, you feel like you accomplished it too. I love reading all kinds of books--fiction and non-fiction, writing poems, running, camping, and hiking. I have run 2 half-marathons so far and would love to do another one soon. I love spending time with my family, playing in the snow, and just enjoying life in general.

Why I am a Mormon

From the time I was little, I loved the church. I felt peace and comfort as I attended with my family. I began reading the Book of Mormon when I was in grade school and continued through high school and college. Every time I read that book, I feel the Holy Ghost, a warm peaceful calm that testifies to me that it is true. I can honestly say that everything good that has ever happened to me has been linked to my membership in the church. The principles in the Book of Mormon helped me come to know the Savior and I am learning more and more that He can get us through anything. All my life, I have been taugh to be honest, to serve others, to give to those that need help--so many things that so many good people everywhere have been taught. Being a member of the church is more than just that though. Being a member of the church allows me to follow the counsel of a living prophet who leads under the direction of Jesus Christ. Because I have been married in the temple, I will be able to be with my family forever. I know that Jesus lives and that He loves us and that He will come again. I know that the church is true. I have prayed to know it and I feel it in my heart. I have studied the gospel all my life and find joy and peace in all that it offers. It is true.

How I live my faith

Every Sunday, I teach little children about Jesus and about prayer and the scriptures. I also visit other women in my ward (local church unit) once a month. I take cookies or bread or other treats to them and make sure they are doing all right. I pray for them and try to be there for them when they need someone. I attend a workout group that some of the young married women in the church put together a few times a week and we laugh and talk about all the joys of being moms and we take care of each other. We watch each other's kids sometimes, we take food to each other when people are sick. We gather things for those that need food or clothing or special help for the holidays. We attend classes about making things or improving our skills. We have so much fun together and even though we are a group of women of very different ages and backgrounds and interests, we love each other.
