Hi I'm Jorden

Loves Music. Aspiring Artist. College Student. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hello! I am Jorden. I am your average college student. You know, living off of cheese sticks and crackers, procrastinating my homework until the last minute and staying up way too late ;) I am studying Art and Visual Communications with an emphasis in Graphic Design here in Utah at Utah Valley University. I LOVE music. Love it. I keep up with a daily music blog that I just started and post songs that I find inspiring, fun, exciting, and good. I believe that music and art can stir the soul to be calm, motivated, inspired, etc. I am your average 22 year old, going to school, working, and trying to live as best as i know how :)

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into an LDS family, My mom and dad raised us with love and understanding and let us build our own testimonies on our own time limit. It wasn't until i was 18 yrs old that i had a TRUE change of heart, and what i like to call my personal conversion. i had been inactive from the time i was 15 until i was 19. My family is an AMAZING family, and they will come back to activity in time i believe, but i decided to take the initiative and come back to activity on my own. When i was 17 i met a group of friends who were all active and good influences, but i didn't feel that i needed the church as an organization because i believed in God and Jesus and the good will towards our brothers and sisters. Then, my whole senior year of high school, i felt the spirit more consistently, whispering to my soul "Jorden, go to church." I finally decided it was time to go after the feelings came almost every night. I started to go to my grandmas church and then i knew i wanted my patriarchal blessing. When i got that blessing my whole life changed. I felt like that was my sincere push to get me back to church even if i had to go on my own. I Joined my first singles ward in 2009, received my temple recommend, had several callings, and am now striving to be worthy of a temple marriage :) I do not have the knowledge of all things, nor do i proclaim to be better or more righteous then anyone else. But i can say with out a doubt in my heart that my Heavenly Father led me back to activity and loves me. I have a testimony of the church of jesus christ of latter day saints and can testify that it is the true church of our savior Jesus Christ. i know he lives, i know that the spirit is real and is sent to testify to our spirits the truth of all things. I testify that the atonement was an actual event, not because i was there and saw it, but because i have literally felt it's healing powers take away the guilt from my soul and lighten my burdens. I love this gospel with all my heart.

How I live my faith

I am not perfect, Nor will I ever be perfect. I get angry sometimes, I fail, I make plenty of mistakes, and I am in need of the atonement daily. But I try my best and I know that that is what the lord asks of us :) If you will come unto him, follow his commandments, and endure to the end, He will always be with you. I try to be a good example, by showing christlike attribues. I do my best to be a good listener, to help others when they are sad or upset, and to give to others of my time and love. I do my best to follow the teachings of the prophets and obey the words of our leaders. I read my scriptures with the intent to obtain more knowledge and wisdom. I pray morning and night to my Heavenly Father, giving thanks and asking for strength and guidance. I try to share my testimony as often as i get the opportunity, and i love sharing it :) I accept the council given by our wonderful leaders and do my best to uphold a certain standard. I do these things because they make me happy, I know that following the commandments, loving others, and doing my best to serve those around me/being charitable, will ultimately bring me eternal happiness and a place in the kingdom of my God.

What is faith?

Alma 32:21 :) "And now as i said concerning faith, faith is not to have a perfect knowledge of things; therefore, if ye have faith, ye hope for things which are not seen, which are true. Show more Show less
