Hi I'm Jordan :

I'm a bowler, I'm a rock climber, I love Geology and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm 20 years old and I'm currently serving a mission in the Georgia Atlanta North Mission, I have 4 months of my 2 year mission left and then back to school I go! I'm going to school for Geology and I absolutely love it. My main 2 favorite sports or activities are Bowling and Rock Climbing and I can never seem to get enough of either of them. But the one thing I love above all else is my Savior Jesus Christ.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon partly because I was raised in the Church, but that is only the beginning and a major blessing in my life. Nothing in life has brought me more joy than the Restored Gospel of Jesus Christ has. Because of this Church I know who God is, I know who Jesus Christ is and what he did for me and the entire world, and I know God's Plan of Salvation which shows us the clear path back to our Father in Heaven so that we can live with Him and our Families forever. My two loving parents raised me up in truth and righteousness and also taught me which path was the true path back to my Heavenly Father. They also taught me God's Plan of Salvation. They taught me all things that I should do, then they left choices up to me. God has given us agency to choose to follow Him. My parents presented to me the path to follow and I obviously recognized that there were many other paths I could choose from. So now I was left on my own to use my agency to make my choice. The only real answers come from God and there is no greater witness than a witness from God. So I turned to my Father in Heaven in prayer and very simply in a direct way to be sure that I received a direct answer asked God if the Book of Mormon was true scripture. That’s what it came down to be, was knowing if the Book of Mormon was true. That told me that Joseph Smith was truly called of God and that the Church he established was done by way of commandment given him from God and that it is Jesus Christ's Church. That one question relieved me of all doubt and answered all of my questions. God does answer prayers, he answered mine and he will answer yours. All he asks is that we ask in faith with real intent, real intent meaning we will act on the answer we receive. I acted on my answer and it led me to be in the service of my Heavenly Father as a missionary in the state of Georgia to further His work in this part of the Lord's vineyard. I found the fullness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ in the Book of Mormon and also in the Bible. Having these two holy records of scripture have brought me closer to God and to his Son Jesus Christ. I now currently have the pleasure and joy of sharing the Book of Mormon with the faithful Christians and many other wonderful children of God here in Georgia so that they too can receive the knowledge that I have received. Which is He lives! Jesus Christ lives! He conquered death and was resurrected so that we too can be resurrected. He restored His Church back to the earth through the Prophet Joseph Smith who God called and gave authority to from heaven so that His work could go forth unaltered and also that the ordinances of salvation such as baptism could be performed properly and by His authority and not of man and also so that the Plan of Salvation could be known to all of God's Children that the purposes of God could be completed. God is our loving Heavenly Father and the Book of Mormon and the Bible are proof of that. Because of all of this I know the truth, I know my Savior and I know my Heavenly Father, and I know how to return to live with them. Listen to the Holy Spirit, He will guide you and teach you the truth. Pray and ask God in faith and you too can know!

How I live my faith

Right now I am serving a full-time mission for 2 years in Georgia and I will return home in 4 months having finished my calling to teach the Gospel. While we are out here in what we call the mission field we teach the Gospel of Jesus Christ which is the power of God unto salvation. My calling is to teach and bear witness of the truthfulness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and of the divinity of the Book of Mormon. My purpose is to invite others to come unto Christ by helping them receive the restored gospel through Faith in Jesus Christ and His atonement, Repentance, Baptism by immersion, Receiving the Gift of the Holy Ghost by the laying on of hands, and Enduring to the end. I also serve others around me as much as possible, because a prophet of God in the Book of Mormon named King Benjamin taught that “when ye are in the service of your fellow beings ye are only in the service of your God.”

Do Mormons regard the Bible as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

Jordan :
Absolutely! The Bible is our other witness that Jesus is the Christ. The Bible teaches us what is called the law of witnesses; "By the mouth of two or three witnesses shall every word be established." With the Bible and the Book of Mormon together we have supportive evidence that Jesus is the Christ. We need the Bible! Show more Show less
