Hi I'm Doreen

I am the mother of 8 children, grandmother to 27 delightful, intelligent, beautiful grandchildren, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

At the top of the list of who I am, I must say that I am a mother. I'm also a grandmother of 27. My family is and always has been my greatest treasure. I enjoy playing piano and organ. I'm a Type II diabetic. Since being diagnosed 19 years ago, I have been able to control my disease with diet/exercise. For those who suffer from diabetes, you can relate to how happy I am with my last A1c result of 5.8. Walking 5 to 6 days each week is my choice of exercise. I have been a secretary for the school district and recently retired

Why I am a Mormon

I have been fortunate to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints since the day I was baptized at age eight. I attended Primary and Young Women and heard the beautiful lessons taught by teachers who loved me and wanted me to be the best I could be. Primary is the program in our Church for children through age 11. At age 12, we advance to Young Women or Young Men, where we have age-appropriate lessons and activities that help us make it through our teenage years. Once I married, I became a member of our women's organization, the Relief Society. Through this group, my life has become more full and very rich. The motto of Relief Society, "Charity Never Faileth," has given me so many opportunities to serve others and to grow in many areas in my own life. My testimony is firm that Jesus is my Savior, the Redeemer of the world and that I am a daughter of God.

How I live my faith

My faith is based on our Savior, Jesus Christ. Because He taught, through example and word, that we should love and serve one another, that is what I enjoy doing most of all. I makes me happy when I can bring a smile to someone else. I have been blessed in more ways than I could ever count. Because of that, it's a privilege to share those blessings with people who need what I can offer. I will soon be sharing the message of Jesus Christ on an 18-month mission. What a privilege!
