Hi I'm Chad Russell

I am 24 years old. I am married with no kids yet. I am a full time student and I work full time. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a born and raised Utah boy from Spanish Fork, UT. I am currently living in Orem with my wife and our dog. I am studying exercise science at Utah Valley University and I work full time at a brand management company. I love my family, my friends, and my work. I guess you could say that I love life. I love the Lord and am grateful for the many blessings he has given me throughout my life.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a Latter-Day Saint (Mormon) family. My family has belonged to the church for generations. Although that is true, I still gained a testimony for myself of the truthfulness of the gospel of Jesus Christ and the reality of the Restoration of the Lord's true church here on earth. I know that the Book of Mormon is true because it draws me closer to Christ. The truthfulness of the Book of Mormon is evidence of the divine calling of the prophet Joseph Smith to restore the original church of Jesus Christ, complete with his priesthood authority, back to earth. I know the priesthood is real and that God communicates to us through a prophet using this same priesthood power. The priesthood is the power that enables us to live with our families forever, and God has placed that priesthood on the earth again.

How I live my faith

I served a 2 year mission to Rosario, Argentina, where I spent all of my time preaching the restored gospel and inviting others to come unto Christ. I have now been home for 3 years, and my wife and I continue to develop and learn about the savior and the gospel. We learn about Him through prayer, study of the scriptures, and by attending our church meetings. I try my best to follow the counsel I receive from priesthood leaders, and I try always to live the commandments, mainly "Thou shalt love the Lord thy God" and "Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself".

What do Mormons believe about family?

Chad Russell
Mormon's believe that the family is the central unit of society, as well as in God's eternal plan. God has prepared a plan wherein, if we obey His laws and commandments, we can be with our families forever, even after this life. A common phrase used by Mormons is "Families are Forever." We believe that this is true and possible as we live our lives in accordance with God's teachings. Show more Show less

What is the Book of Mormon?

Chad Russell
The Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ. It is another witness that Jesus Christ did, in fact, live, and that He still lives. It contains, as does the Bible, teachings of ancient prophets. The Book of Mormon is unique in the fact that it's teachings come from prophets of the "new world" or the Americas. The Lord led the prophet Joseph Smith to it and gave him power to translate it. Along with being a testimony of Christ, it is also evidence that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God, called by God to restore the true church of Jesus Christ, along with all His authority, back to earth. This authority is called the priesthood, and allows families to be "sealed" together beyond this mortal life. Show more Show less
