Hi I'm Mel

I'm a tattoo artist. I am a fun person and love to make people laugh. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am 34. I am a tattoo artist. I pride myself on not living the typical tattooer's lifestyle. I don't drink, smoke, use drugs, or anything like that. I got into tattooing because I love art. I also love to play tennis. I am a huge Roger Federer fan. He is my hero. I love his positive outlook and personal belief in himself. I also love his game and I think he is the greatest tennis player of all time! I became Mormon a couple of years ago. I have been Catholic since I was 12. My conversion has been a very long, hard process. I have fought very hard to have the faith that I do now. I am so grateful that God did not give up on me! I have always been a very spiritual person. I love the Church so much and I love to study the Gospel. I love listening to the Mormon Tabernacle Choir and Marshall McDonald, two artists that make beautiful music for our church. I love all other kinds of music as well. I am in love with the temple. I am very lucky to have been in the temple. It is truly the most beautiful place on earth! I feel so close to God and so full of His Spirit when I am within those walls.

Why I am a Mormon

I love this church and am proud to call myself a member of it. Being a Mormon has brought me so much closer to Jesus. I would like to offer three reasons why I I feel this way: 1) I have been blessed with so much because of the life of Joseph Smith. He had such a heart for Jesus Christ and the things of God; his faith is an inspiration to me. I truly believe that he was a prophet of God. Because of Joseph Smith we have the Book of Mormon. I believe this book to be the Word of God just like the Bible is. It has led me so close to Jesus. When I am sad or stressed, or just want to feel more of the Spirit, I read the Book of Mormon. Take a chance and read it. I promise it will change your life! 2) I know where I came from. I know that I am a daughter of God. Heavenly Father is truly the literal Father of my spirit and I lived with Him before this world was. He loves me and you. He wants the very best for us. We are not alone in this world to fend for ourselves with no support. God is my Father and your Father and is just a prayer away. These truths give me so much peace and comfort in this world that is so shallow and full of empty promises. 3) I believe that Jesus Christ is the Savior of the world. He is my personal Savior. I picture Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane and the blood oozing from His every pore. I think to myself, “Mel, He is thinking about you. He is thinking of how much He loves you and that He will take upon Himself your grief so that you can feel a little lighter and stand a little taller. I wonder what He sees in you to offer such a tremendous gift to you...” In these moments I am grateful that if the Savior had to die for just one person, He would have died for ME.

How I live my faith

My faith helps me deal with the stress of life. It makes a big difference to have something to believe in. I put my hope in Jesus Christ. Being a Mormon means to me that I truly accept Christ as my personal Savior. He is there for me everyday. He is my rock and my support.
